🎶 EHS Choir Takes Music on the Road 🧡🖤

Last week, the Ephrata High School Choir spent two days touring the Puget Sound area, learning, making music and visiting some incredible places along the way. Choir Director Tim O’Donnell led the tour, which included time with other choirs, visits to unique venues and several memorable performances.

On Thursday, the choir sang alongside students from Auburn Riverside High School. Later they visited Lumen Field, where they toured the locker rooms, suites, press boxes, and the field tunnel.. That evening, the choir performed in St. Mark’s Episcopal Cathedral, a place known for its beautiful acoustics.

On Friday the group took a ferry to Vashon Island to work with Rich Nace, a highly respected choral educator who has led workshops for directors and students across the U.S. and Asia. They also enjoyed a visit to a giant wooden Troll statue and some time on the beach.

The trip concluded with a performance at St. James Cathedral on Capitol Hill, which included a demonstration from the cathedral’s massive pipe organ. The video shared with this post was recorded during that performance.

O'Donnell says the choir takes a tour like this every two years, often visiting the west side because of the opportunity to sing in large, resonant spaces. "We don't really have places like that here in Ephrata," he said. "It's a great experience for the students."

Two days of music, learning, and adventure left our Tigers with memories—and voices—that will resonate long after they return home! 🌟🐯

🎶 El Coro de EHS Lleva la Música de Gira 🧡🖤

La semana pasada, el Coro de Ephrata High School pasó dos días de gira por el área del Puget Sound, aprendiendo, haciendo música y visitando lugares increíbles en el camino. El director del coro, Tim O’Donnell, encabezó la gira, que incluyó tiempo con otros coros, visitas a lugares únicos y varias presentaciones memorables.

El jueves, el coro cantó junto a los estudiantes de Auburn Riverside High School. Más tarde visitaron Lumen Field, donde recorrieron los vestuarios, suites, cabinas de prensa y el túnel del campo. O’Donnell comenta que el coro realiza una gira como esta cada dos años, visitando frecuentemente el lado oeste debido a la oportunidad de cantar en espacios grandes y resonantes. “Aquí en Ephrata realmente no tenemos lugares así,” dijo. “Es una experiencia fantástica para los estudiantes.”
