SMALL GROUP MUSIC LESSONS!

This session begins mid-September and will include 12 weekly classes, 30 minutes each. I had a blast teaching this course last winter! It's such a great opportunity for kids (ages 7-12) to get comfortable singing and to learn musical concepts in a fun and engaging way.

These group music classes have been so fun! Today we learned about dynamics and the musical words for loud and soft: forte and piano. We sang about a grizzly bear sleeping in a cave. We had to sing very quietly to not wake him up but at the end he woke up and was very loud and mad!

Last week we talked about tempo and some different words for fast and slow in music. We sang "Rainbow Connection" so, of course Kermit had to come for a visit.

The last two weeks in group music lessons, we learned about pitch, note value, and body percussion. The kids had fun showing how low or high a note was by holding their scarf up or down. They used whiteboards to come up with their own note value combinations and tossed bean bags to match notes to their value. We also learned some fun new songs!

We had such a good time in our first group music lesson today! We talked about rhythm and beat, played some rhythm games, and sang songs. So fun to see these kids learn about music!

Should you take full time lessons or short-term lessons?

Short-term lessons are typically for a specific goal like an upcoming audition for a play or choir. Or maybe some help getting ready for a solo or talent show. These lessons are focused on the specific song the student is learning for the upcoming opportunity. A lot of progress can be made in a short amount of time when there is a specific goal!

Full time lessons are much more well-rounded. I provide full time students with songbooks that I choose specifically for their voice and interests. We take time to discover their strengths and the areas they need help in. We explore music theory and learn songs in preparation for performance opportunities I provide, as well as any additional goals the student wants to work towards.

Both types of lessons are so beneficial! What type is best for you?

SMALL GROUP MUSIC LESSONS!

This is a 3 month session from January-March. Each class has room for about four students ages 5-10. This will be an opportunity for kids to get comfortable singing and to learn musical concepts in a fun and engaging way!

Lessons will be held weekly and each will be 30 minutes long. There is the option to pay monthly ($30/month) or pay $85 upfront for the entire session. Registration closes on December 1st so, message me to reserve a spot. This will be really fun!

Did you know I give a free trial lesson? During this lesson, I get to know the student and they learn more about my studio. Then comes the fun part where we actually get to sing!

At a recent trial lesson, we took our voices up and down on a roller coaster, played a fun solfege game, and played "Copy Cat" as we sang back and forth to each other.
