So...today is National Dessert Day! Since we’re also in both pie season and gratitude season, I thought I’d share my apple pie gratitude card. 🥧

I do love apple pie, particularly Dutch apple pie with a little caramel and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. SO good!

However, I also LOVE sweet potato pie. It MUST be homemade, preferably by someone’s Southern grandma. LOL!

My husband, Harold, loves cherry pie. So over the years, I’ve come to enjoy that as well. He's brought home so many cherry pies! 😂

You know you've reached a certain level of friendship when the reels you send each other are things you would NEVER post publicly. 😂

The kind that make you laugh out loud, shake your head, and immediately hit the share button because you know EXACTLY which friend will appreciate them.

I think some of the best friendships are the ones where you can be completely ridiculous together. You can laugh about things that nobody else would find funny, and sometimes all it takes is one reel to make your day.

There’s something special about receiving a handwritten card in the mail.

Not a bill. Not an advertisement. Not another piece of junk mail. LOL! 😂

But an actual card that someone took the time to choose, write a personal message in, put in an envelope, and mail just for YOU.

I think that's part of what makes greeting cards so wonderful. In a world where we can send a text or email in seconds, taking a few extra minutes to write a card is a lovely way to show someone that we're thinking about them.

And the best part about a handwritten card is that it can be enjoyed again and again. You can tuck it away in a drawer, display it on your mantel, or pull it out years later and smile all over again.

Whether you're celebrating someone, thanking them, encouraging them, or simply saying hello, a handwritten card is a little piece of happiness delivered through the mail.

✨ 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗗𝗮𝘆 ✨

Today is World Mental Health Day.

Sending a card in the mail may seem like a very simple gesture. It may even seem too small to have much of an impact.

But when someone we care about is struggling with their mental health, there is often very little we can actually do to change what they are going through. The same can be true when someone is caring for or supporting a person who is struggling.

We can't always fix it, but we can:

💗 Let them know we're in their corner.
💗 Remind them that they are seen.
💗 Check in and let them know we're thinking about them.
💗 Send a little bit of sunshine in the mail.

It may seem like a small thing, but small gestures can still make someone smile. And for that moment, the moment when they open the card and read the message, they may feel a little better. They may even smile. They may feel supported, seen, and loved.

✨ 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝘆 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝗣𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗠𝘆 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲 ✨

Many of my cards are inspired by people in my life.

For example, my ice cream cone birthday card was inspired by my husband’s obsession with ice cream, and my raccoon birthday card was inspired by a friend who sends me raccoon reels all the time. 😂

This year, as Pastor Appreciation Sunday approached at my church, I decided to create a card specifically for our senior pastor.

I wanted the card to reflect both my style and her personality. She is:

💗 Positive
☀️ Joyful
✨ Inspiring
😂 Funny
💕 Kind
🌸 Youthful

So, I wanted the card to have that same bright, upbeat energy.

I used bold lettering, lots of color, and a playful design that felt like her, while still expressing how much her leadership and service are appreciated.

One of the things I enjoy about designing cards is finding inspiration in the people, conversations, experiences, and even inside jokes in my own life.

And just like that, another Stacey M Design card was inspired by someone I know. 😊

We are now in a season when there is universally a little extra emphasis on gratitude. I believe in the importance of expressing gratitude and the impact it can have.

About 20 years ago, when the cards I offered were almost exclusively for kids, my #1 best-selling items for a long time were thank you cards for children. I loved knowing that so many parents and grandparents were actively teaching their kids and grandkids the importance of expressing gratitude.

These days, my collection of thank you cards is geared toward adults, and I offer more than 30 different designs!

While they’re all about gratitude, they definitely don’t all say it the same way. 😂 I’d group them into six broad styles:
