✨ Employee Spotlight: Kendra ✨

Kendra is a treasured part of our WRCA family and brings over 20 years of experience working with young children. She truly believes she has been called to teach and share the love of Jesus while helping children build a strong foundation for their future learning.

Kendra has worn many hats throughout her journey. Raising four children of her own, teaching Sunday school, and serving as a preschool teacher, all of which have shaped her nurturing, steady approach in the classroom. She is passionate about continuing to grow as an educator and enjoys attending annual conferences that inspire new ideas and encouragement.

Outside of work, Kendra loves reading, hiking, spending time with family and friends, and enjoying life with her two dogs and cat. She’s been married for over 30 years and treasures time with her adult children and loved ones.

We are so thankful for Kendra’s heart for children, her faith-filled leadership, and the warmth she brings to our academy each day. We are truly blessed to have her at WRCA 💙

BREAKING NEWS: Today only, our teachers have decided to switch jobs with the kids.
Snack will be served by the toddlers, nap time enforced by the preschoolers, and circle time led by our stuffed animals.

Recently, Miss Maria and Miss Haley introduced a new experience in our Discovery Preschool classroom called “All About Me.” This special activity was created to help us build deeper connections with our children and families as we learn more about each child’s background, culture, and what makes them uniquely special 💛

To kick things off, Miss Maria shared her own “All About Me” with the class, including her cultural background. She talked with the children about how food is a meaningful way to connect with culture and family traditions. To bring this idea to life, she shared a co**ha for the children to try, along with her all-time favorite candy—a paleta payaso, which means “clown pop.” 🍞🍭

It was a joyful, hands-on way for the children to learn about one another, celebrate differences, and build a stronger sense of community within the classroom. We’re so excited to continue learning all about what makes each child—and teacher—so special!

Happy Pi Day! 🥧✨ Since Pi Day landed on a Saturday this year, our Discovery Preschool class kicked off the celebration early with a sweet hands-on activity! The children created their very own pies using mini pie dishes, graham crackers, and a yummy pudding topping. The best part? Getting to enjoy their delicious creations during PM snack. What a fun and tasty way to celebrate Pi Day! 🎉😊

We were so touched today when a family surprised us with these delicious homemade cupcakes and a heartfelt card. 💕

Supporting our families through both joyful seasons and challenging times is at the heart of what we do. We truly strive to meet each family where they are and offer care, encouragement, and support however we can.

Moments like this remind us why this work matters so much and how meaningful it is to know we’ve made a difference in someone’s life. We are incredibly grateful for the trust our families place in us and for being part of their journey. 🧁💛

✨ Employee Spotlight: Erica O’Laughlin ✨

Erica has worked with young children since her early teen years and brings a deep passion for early childhood education to her role as Assistant Director at WRCA. She is a graduate of Green River College, where she earned her Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education, and she continues to be dedicated to creating safe, nurturing environments where children can thrive and grow.

Erica finds the greatest joy in watching children develop and progress before her eyes and believes that supporting both children and staff is at the heart of a strong school community. Her ability to problem-solve quickly and lead with care makes her an invaluable part of our academy.

Outside of work, Erica enjoys road trips, camping, and spending quality time with her family, especially her nephews. She loves being outdoors with her chocolate lab, Mila, and is excited to be getting married this July to her fiancé of seven years!

We are so grateful for Erica’s leadership, dedication, and heart for children. WRCA is truly blessed to have her as part of our team 💙
