While we still have a lot of work to do, the schools in Dickinson County have been working together, along with the Dickinson County Health Department on a plan to re-open the schools within Dickinson County. We are planning on resuming in person operations in August including a plan to have the students in the buildings as scheduled. In person, virtual, and/or blended learning opportunities may be available to students as plans are developed
We are currently evaluating our processes, procedures, policies and facilities to see what adjustments we need to make to provide a safe environment for our students, teachers, staff and parents. Please understand that we are still waiting on guidelines from the Kansas State Department of Education before we can finalize our plans. This information will not be available until mid-July. Once these guidelines are released, we will have a better understanding of the expectations from the Kansas Board of Education and we will finalize our plans.

[06/10/20]   Today is the last day for the Grab and Go meals for the summer. We greatly appreciated everyone who has volunteered to make this possible and a huge thank you to Jennifer Tiller for organizing it all.

ENT End of year

Enterprise families,

I can't believe today is our last day of school. I want to thank each one of you for your continued support and effort this past quarter in ensuring your students worked on educational materials. I know that this process could not have been easy, so thank you for being so amazing.

4th quarter grades have been posted. Your child's grades can be found in PowerSchool or your child's classroom teacher possibly sent the fourth quarter grades to you through email.

We will notify you of any money owed or a credit balance at the beginning of the next year. Please contact me with any questions or concerns.

The Enterprise staff and myself greatly appreciated all of the pictures of your child/ren working hard at home during the continuous learning plan. Mrs. Jones has worked hard to create an awesome video of our students during this time. I hope you enjoy it!

Have a safe and healthy summer!

I love all of you....have a great summer! Text me or send snail mail...I'll try to do the same. :-)

It's the eve of "The Last Day of School". It all seems so weird to me this year. I almost didn't realize tomorrow was the last day until earlier this week. It's not like I wasn't aware because I remember the day we received the calendar for this school year and how I wondered what the new school year would hold. I remember writing it in my new planner last June and thinking that it seemed like the last day would take forever to arrive. Now, the last day of school is upon us and summer break has arrived.

It's so difficult for me to put into words how this year has gone. It has so much emotion captured in the days that we shared and then when we were abruptly "shutting down" school in the buildings. It's hard not to cry as I type this for all of you to read. All of us, yes, every single one of us, have experienced loss this year...some more than others and some of you are still reeling from the loss of leaving your school, teacher, friends and your families from losing jobs, income, hope, and wondering what life will be like in the future. All of those experiences are your own and no one can tell you that you did or did not have a feeling or experience that didn't matter. I know for some of you this has been so hard...and by you, I mean students, staff, and parents. I hope that if you have a story to share that you will reach out to your mental health team (Mrs. Dalke, Mrs. Chestnut, Ms. Mount, or I). We are interested in hearing your story to assist us in moving forward to meet the social emotional learning and mental health needs of all of you. You all matter!

I also smile through those tears as I think about your strengths and all that you have overcome this school year. Some of you have excelled in your learning, you have shared incredible stories of kindness, you have brightened the days of each other, and you have done hard things. I know it hasn't been easy, but I have to say that I have been so proud of you for doing hard things and taking responsibility for those around you. Give yourself a pat on the back...you deserve so much gratitude and recognition for your accomplishments.

I know that this has not been easy for our students - you lost field trips, spring sports, spring musical performances, proms, graduations, and all the fun that comes at the end of the school year. Teachers, you walked out of your room with uncertainty and sadness, but did your best given the circumstances. I think we can all agree that the importance of relationships has never been clearer than it is now. Parents, you have had to be a parent, teacher, principal and maintain work and do everything in your power to keep your family safe and well. Everyone has had big stressors and no single job was more difficult than another. I think we have all realized that we are all better together.

So, now it's on to summer vacation and hopefully having a little less stress in all of our lives. I hope your gardens grow. I hope you enjoy the sun. I hope you find time to play outside. I hope you find a great book to read. I hope you treasure sunrises and sunsets. I hope you know that you are loved and cared about so much. I don't think any of us know exactly how the next few months will look, but I want to promise you that your SEL/MH Team will focus on addressing the trauma, loss and grief, and meeting the emotional needs of our students, families, and staff. We will be working through the summer to make plans to meet all of your needs and if you need us, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. We may host some virtual parent support groups, provide opportunities for students who need our attention to continue to have access to us via Zoom, and plan for August and whatever it may look like. We are still here for YOU!

I wish I had some great words of wisdom to leave you with or give you something that would provide comfort in the days ahead. Instead, I will simply leave you with this...we are all proud of you, we miss you, we hope you all stay healthy, and we hope you continue to be kind to everyone around you. We wish you days of sunshine and rain...we need both to grow. Have a great summer everyone...you will all be in our hearts!

Live Literature | greatplainstheatre

Below is a link to the Great Plains Theatre Live Literature production of "Wilbur’s Web.” Usually our school goes every year and enjoys an educational, fun, original play in our local community. Not this year…..for obvious reasons. BUT, that did not stop the GPT from producing one!

When you go to the attached link, you will then scroll down. In the first green paragraph, there is another link to view the play online. There are other blue links at the bottom of the page where students can download activity pages and answer keys that go with the play. This is only online throughout the month of May.

greatplainstheatre.com Great Plains Theatre's Live Literature program is a great way to see a fun, educational show as an introduction to theatre! Our adaptation of the classic E.B. White story is sure to entertain and educate.

We would like to recognize the recipient of the Jesse Karl Award for the 2019-2020 school year. The student that is receiving this award is Reagan Beckham. Congratulations!

Good morning Enterprise families, here are next week’s choice boards.

Catholic Charities Emergency Outreach will be at St. Michaels in Chapman on Wednesday, April 29th from 12:30-2:00 passing out food boxes and hygiene bags to anyone who needs them.

The food boxes contain non-perishable food items and are valued at about $25.00. They include things such as cereal, pudding, spaghetti sauce, pasta, canned goods, instant mashed potatoes, ramen noodles, mac and cheese, etc.

The hygiene bags contain a 4-pack of toilet paper, Kleenex, shampoo, bar soap, razors, shaving cream, household cleaner, deodorant, toothbrush, toothpaste, dish soap, lotion, and laundry detergent.

There will be no required documentation to receive a box and a bag. Someone can pick up on behalf of someone else, but they cannot pick up for themselves and someone else.

If people carpool and one car represents multiple households, we ask that those in the vehicle bring a piece of verified mail and their ID for proof of separate households. Otherwise, we will only administer one box and one bag.

Congratulations Enterprise Elementary!!

Virtual Spirit Week: April 27-May 1
Send pictures to Mrs. Jones ([email protected]) by 4:00 p.m. each day of your student participating. We will post your pictures on our page.
