What's been cooking in my craft room? Wood work and miniature tree house design!

I purchased 2 different types of wooden treehouses from Etsy to get an idea of how to build mine, decided soon after arrival to design my treehouse with much more detail, including moss growth on 1 side of each tree facing the shady side( away from the windows). 1 library, several lounge areas, viewing tower, outside bathroom, magical kitchen, pully systems, ladders, foliage, and much much more. I will be connecting the 2 treehouses from Etsy with my 3' x 3' treehouse, giving the completed treehouse complex a size of 48x43 the exact size of our 16" tall wood activity table. This gives the littes 4 sides of never-ending imaginative, daydreaming, YEAR AROUND FUN!!

What sets us apart from other in-home childcares in our area?

We are have an entire space solely for Hayden's Haven. We turned our 1600 square foot daylight basement and made it what it is today. Our most recent project was enclosing our 800 sq ft porch and turning it into an indoor playground/gym. We live at a dead end street with a large corner lot that means no traffic, and 3 large yards, one we turned into a playground and another for our garden.

We don't just teach the basics; ABC's, writing, art, love of books and all things dipped in paint. We pride ourselves on teaching social graces, table manners, hygiene, nutrition, recycling, and how to care for your environment and the community. By 12 months our littles are already washing hands before and after meals, pushing in their chairs and throwing away their napkins. They are able to use sign language to tell us they want more or they are done eating. By 18 months they will have graduated from a crib to a cot, learning to choose growing food over what I call filler food, food that helps you feel comfortably full. They will have found a favorite book that they want read to them a thousand times. By 24 months we introduce the idea of potty training. They will be able to recognize colors, shapes, a few letters, hold a pencil correctly, memorize songs, and asks for things by saying "may I please". They begin learning colors in Spanish.

Is there a need for an after school program for ages 8 and under in Enterprise?
We are located less than 2 blocks from Enterprise Elementary. I could send 2 Aide's or Teachers to walk children from School to Hayden's Haven where we have an indoor gym attached to a 1600 sq.ft. daycare that looks more like a children's museum. We would feed your child a healthy & hearty snack, play games, dance, sing, yoga, and exercise until 6pm. Pricing would be....

4 days/week + Fridays: $175/wk
4 days without Fridays: $100/wk

Any thoughts on whether I should give this a go?? Is this needed in Enterprise? Would Parents who work in Enterprise but p/u their children from Joseph or Wallowa use this service?

We are learning all about Recycling and Re-using this week! Today we made two teams and each made something cool with the recycled cardboard, plastic, and soda cans the littles brought in this week, so far. Madelyn's team made a duck! And my team made a robot, glasses, and binoculars!
We started off with larger teams but as the time went on, a few of our teammates became restless, tired, or hungry!

Hayden's Haven is still going through changes, and will always change a little bit to keep the interest of our little friends!! Whether we are changing out work trays every week, cycling through imaginary toys, or changing out costumes, but one thing that stays the same is how we love our littles! We respect them and in turn they respect us and their surroundings! They amaze me every single day!! They make it easy to care and love them. My goal has always been to make sure the littles here know all of the above and we show them how much we love them by keeping it interesting and allowing them their independence and giving them choices!!! Hayden's Haven is all about children and their needs, education, and helping them be successful! Social graces and good manners are the keys to our success, the way we are able to handle 16 littles without pulling our hair out!! These littles don't need to be told to wash their hands before and after meals, they don't need to be reminded to push in their chairs or pick up or put their work trays back on the shelves ready for the next friend. It takes patience and time to help the littles to get to this point, but it's worth it and the parents appreciate it! Littles are so full of energy, all it takes is for someone to direct that energy into a learning experience, and that's exactly where we come in!

Miss Lori has started our spring S.T.E.M. program for our littles 3 to 5. Focusing on COLOR & SHAPE RECOGNITION IN ISOLATION & THE WORLD AROUND THEM. COUNTING WITH NUMBER RECOGNITION, BLENDING COLORS, LANGUAGE; POSITIONAL AND DESCRIPTIVE, BODY PARTS, IDENTIFYING BODY LANGUAGE, FACIAL EXPRESSIONS/FEELINGS, SCISSOR CUTTING, PATTERNS, OPOSIITES; MORE/LESS, FAST/SLOW..., ASL SIGNING, PENCIL GRIP POSITION.

Miss Madelyn has devised a beautiful sensory inspired learning program for our 16 month to 30 month littles. SHE TEACHES CHILDREN TO FOLLOW SIMPLE DIRECTIONS, HAND STRENGTHENING, QUIET VOICE/LOUD VOICE, BODY PARTS, SORTING, ASL SIGNING, COUNTING, ABCs, SPACIAL AWARENESS, RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR SPACE, SOCIAL GRACES!!

PARENTS, YOU HAVE CERTAINLY HEARD YOUR 1 AND 2 YEAR OLDS COUNTING IN SPANISH, SAYING ABC'S, MEMORIZING FAVORITE BOOKS! THANKS TO MISS MADELYN, MISS LORI, AND MISS KYLEE!!

AND I AM RESPONSIBILE FOR THE INFANTS IN OUR BIG GROUP! INDIVIDUAL LEARNING FOR OUR UNDER 2 LITTLES WHO ARE BRILLIANT BUT STILL AT THE MATURITY LEVEL OF THEIR PEERS.

1000 square foot indoor playground is on it's way!! We've run into all sorts of road blocks including a leaky roof. Now, we need to hire someone to level the cement floor with gypcrete. Today Joe installs the 1st piece of tempered glass!!. Ordering doors and glass on Monday. The gym flooring is waiting for leveling and then clean up and install all of the climbing equipment for both the toddlers and the babies with a gate to separate each area and 2' x 65' of fake grass as the walkway.

My last project starts this summer. We are pouring a concrete oval racetrack for the bikes, trikes, and cars that will border the entire play yard.

We are far from our original completion date due to some medical issues and Joe buttoning up his last few weekend jobs.
We’ve been sitting on the flooring, all the climbing equipment and a few decorations. Joe has the pony wall and glass walls framed, also the two doors. Starting this coming weekend he will spend every weekend working on our indoor playground until it’s complete and the next project is to build a covered walk way and secure path from the indoor playground to the entry gate! This is something I’ve dreamed of since we decided to open Hayden’s Haven!! I’m so excited for our littles and especially babies to be able to bask in natural sunlight even when it’s 5 degrees outside!!
