Please join us in congratulating Senior Ellie Wartsbaugh on receiving her first Exemplary medal for the State VASE event held in San Marcos this past weekend.

There were over 32,000 VASE entries this year and only 7% of those which qualified for state were awarded a medal with an Exemplary score of 4.

Sophomore Emmily Jimenez also a state qualifier, received a superior rating for her piece.

Mrs. Rodriguez and Ms. Kelly are very proud of these young artists.

All 35 pieces earned Superior Ratings at the VASE Regional Event today, with two State Qualifiers. What a fantastic day with some exceptionally skilled artists. Thank you for your support and well wishes. ❤️

Please join us in congratulating
Freshman Wyatt Mitschke on receiving his first state medal for the State VASE event held in San Marcos this past weekend.
There were over 33,000 VASE entries this year and only 7% of those which qualified for state were awarded a medal with a high score of 4.

Wyatt is a freshman in Ms. Kelly's Explorative Art class. His piece was based on a family pet named Buddy who is a bearded dragon. It is a mixed media piece wood burned into a live edge slab with a colored pencil and acrylic wash overlay.

Freshman Mckinzie Orduno and Senior Ethan Padilla also attended the event and each received a 3, a Superior rating for their pieces.

Congratulations to the Ennis High School Art students and teachers for their outstanding performance at the annual Visual Arts Scholastic Event (VASE) on March 2, 2024!

All 37 pieces advanced to regionals earning exemplary ratings and gold medals. This is a first ever for EHS. Additionally, three students and their pieces will compete at state in April.

Kudos to McKinzie Orduno, Wyatt Mitschke, and Ethan Padilla for qualifying for state! All three state qualifiers are students of Ms. Kelly’s Art 1, Explorative Art , and AP classes.
