Well, that was EPIC!

We'd like extend a huge thank you to all that attended our reunion events over the weekend! All the kind compliments from you folks really make it worth the effort. Without your participation this could never have happened. Please share how much you enjoyed it to those whom chose not to attend and encourage them not to miss the next!

Reunion weekend is here!

We can't wait to see all of you that are attending this weekend's festivities. To ensure there are no issues navigating to the Capital Club, this post serves as a refresher about location, parking and the entrances.

But first, just a little bit about Friday - It also starts at 7:00 at Wild Wing Cafe. Enter through the main entrance and walk straight through to the back patio. If you mention the Enka Reunion gathering, the hostess should know where to direct you.

The Main Event!

Capital Club address is 82 Patton Ave. For those taking Uber to the event you'll be dropped off at the front entrance on Patton Avenue. See pic.

For all those driving, there is a parking lot and garage behind the building that's accessed by Coxe Ave. The rear entrance is pictured below with the Capital Center building logo embossed.

Take that hallway to the elevator. Then the elevator to the 7th floor. Once there, you have 1 more floor to go, which can be accessed by another elevator or stairs across the hall. All will be clearly marked with signage.

The event starts at 7, so please arrive on time to allow for registration. And you don't want to miss the sunset view from there (7:37).

Several have asked about a dress code for the main event. Please accept our apologies if this was overlooked. While we wouldn’t require a jacket and tie, we would like to keep it on the dressier side of casual. (No T-shirts and jeans). Think of it somewhere in the middle of casual and semi-formal.

As for Friday, it will be totally casual.

Hi gang! We're only 1 week away from the reunion and have updates to share with you 😀

Other than finalizing some small details with the menu, the main event for Saturday night is set! We've received several payments from classmates this past week and are excited at how the number of attendees is progressing. Obtaining an accurate head-count is imperative to properly planning an event this size. THANK YOU!!

For the Friday night gathering at Wild Wing Cafe, we've had to make some changes. However, after doing so, we feel it will make for a much more intimate setting.

Originally, we planned to reserve the covered outdoor pavilion, which is a HUGE area for the number of guests we expect to attend. This space, along with the required dedicated servers, etc. proved to be more costly than we could justify. Moving forward with that plan would have compromised the quality of the main event the following night, and that was unacceptable.

With that being said, we're still having the event at Wild Wing Cafe, but holding it on the back patio instead. This area is much more inviting, as it offers covered and uncovered seating, an outdoor fireplace, and it's right on the edge of Lake Julian with a great view (see pics).

This gathering is from 7:00 - until. For those that want to kick up your heels a bit, the band starts at 9:00 and play a great mix of current and classic favorites. They're really good! Be sure to check them out.

We'll post reminders about parking and entrance locations later next week. Meanwhile, please contact us with any questions you may have.

Hi all! We hope everyone is having a great Holiday weekend.

We're now less than 2 weeks away from our 40 year class reunion! Can you believe it? It's been almost 6 months since we sent out our Save The Date notice. Regrettably, some have been difficult to track down. Please continue to share the word about it to those classmates you're still in contact with that may not be on social media.

HUGE thank-you's to those that sent in payment over the last week! We're very close to meeting our financial goals but still need more participation or we will be forced to cut back on some of the plans.

With that being said, we want to offer some clarification on the Friday night event at the Wild Wing Cafe outdoor pavilion - This event will only be able to take place if we have enough paid attendees. A little of the feedback received regarding this event indicates that some are under the impression it's free. It is not. If goals aren't met, this event will be the first one scrubbed from the plan.

Any changes to the weekend's plans will be announced here first. So please stay tuned to this channel 😁.

We look forward to seeing everyone on the 16th!

We are only 1 month away from our 40 year reunion event and need YOU to make it great!

While the response has been strong overall, there's an imbalance between the amount of those who have verbally committed to attend vs. those who have paid. If you're attending, please try to get your payment in soon. This is imperative for us to follow through with our plans, determine food costs, prizes, etc.

We've had some questions about parking from those with limited mobility. In effort to offer some clarity, read further.

The Capital Club is fronted by Downtown Patton Avenue with Commerce Street in the back. While there are entrances from both streets, those driving will want to park and enter in the back.

In the picture you will see a canvas awning to the left over the Capital Club entrance. To the right of Commerce Street you will see a parking lot, and an adjacent parking deck. A map view is also provided for your reference.

Happy Independence Day, classmates!

We're just barely over 2 months away from the reunion, and hope to see as many of you there as possible.

As you can imagine, there's a lot that goes into planning an event of this size. (I liken it to planning my wedding 🤪). So, please don't wait until the last minute to submit payment as we need it, and an accurate head-count for planning purposes.
