Starting Monday Aug 24, we will start serving breakfast at 7:20 and ending at 7:50. This change is an effort to give our students more time to eat with the new school starting time at 7:50.

Meet Mrs. Gibson! 🍎

Welcome to first grade! I’m Mrs. Gibson, and I’m so excited to be your child’s teacher this year! I graduated from the University of Oregon and have been teaching at McKinley elementary for 8 years. Teaching first grade is one of my favorite things because I love watching students grow in confidence, independence, and their love of learning.

I believe every child deserves to feel safe, loved, valued, and excited to come to school each day. Our classroom will be a place where we learn, laugh, make mistakes, try new things, and celebrate our successes together.

When I’m not at school, I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking, staying active, and working on all kinds of projects. I’m looking forward to getting to know each of my students and their families and making this a wonderful year full of learning, growth, and lots of fun!

I can’t wait to see what this year has in store! 💚🦆

Welcome our amazing counselor!

Lana Cunningham has proudly served Enid Public Schools for more than 15 years. She began her
career as a school nurse, where she developed a passion for caring for the whole child and
supporting students and their families. Four years ago, she transitioned into the role of school
counselor at McKinley Elementary, where she continues that mission by helping students grow
academically, socially, and emotionally.
Mrs. Cunningham believes every child deserves to feel seen, heard, and valued. She enjoys
building strong relationships with students, partnering with families, and collaborating with teachers
to create a safe, supportive environment where all children can thrive. Her goal is to help students
develop confidence, resilience, and the skills they need to be successful both inside and outside the
classroom.
Outside of school, Mrs. Cunningham enjoys spending time with her family, especially her children.
She loves spending time with her son and new daughter-in-law, cheering on her daughter at
volleyball games, and making memories with her great-nephews while swimming and enjoying the
outdoors.
Mrs. Cunningham is honored to be a part of the McKinley Elementary family and is looking forward
to a fantastic start to the new school year. She is excited to welcome students back and partner
with families and staff to make it a year filled with growth, kindness, and succes
