This weekend was Emmanuel Enid‘s 65th anniversary. Every living pastor came to Enid this weekend to be a part of the celebration. I was excited to meet Dr. Hayes Wicker who was the pastor when Emmanuel Christian School was started. It was great to get to know him. He was thrilled to hear that the school is doing well.

Our students were so excited to find out that the playground is officially ready! After waiting patiently, they couldn’t wait to see it, play, and enjoy this special gift.

We just want to take a moment to say THANK YOU to everyone who helped make our new playground possible!

To everyone who prayed, contributed financially, volunteered their time, or helped in any way—please know how deeply grateful we are. It truly took many hands and generous hearts to bring this playground to life.

We had a fun surprise today in the office. The 3rd Headmaster of ECS, Dr. John Stam, stopped in to say hello. It was good to catch up with him.

Dear ECS Families,

In trying to avoid causing unnecessary fear with my last message, I realize that I did not provide enough information about the “Cat and the Hat” concern. I want to clarify what I was referring to.

There is currently a viral social media trend circulating online involving a creepy “Cat in the Hat” character claiming to be coming after certain schools in various states across the country. ECS has NOT been named in any of these posts. At this time, there is no specific threat against ECS.

I have not shared this information with our students because I do not want to create unnecessary fear or anxiety. However, I wanted our parents to be aware in case your child happens to see one of these posts on social media or comes across it elsewhere online. If your child does mention it, please feel free to talk with them about what they have seen and reassure them that the adults at school are aware and are taking appropriate precautions.

As I mentioned in my previous message, our school security personnel are checking the building each day and remaining vigilant regarding the safety of our students and staff. We will continue to monitor the situation and respond appropriately to any legitimate concerns.

Thank you for partnering with us and for helping us maintain a calm and safe environment for our students. We want to keep you informed without creating unnecessary fear, and I hope this clarification helps provide some peace of mind.

Blessings,
Lisa Wright
Principal
