Teaching US History Better is a US History Curriculum that is cheaper than textbooks. Designed by Gene Olbert, this Curriculum helped students achieve the 2nd highest scores in the State of Oklahoma for EOI testing in 2017. (Bartlesville received 1st)
US History Better has 5th grade, 8th grade and US History in High School. The Curriculum flows from the 5th grade, 8th grade and to High School. So, it works together with the all grades.

I am looking forward to this next school year. I have never got a chance to teach 8th grade US History. This will give me an opportunity to use the 8th grade curriculum for the entire year. By next May it will have been taught and any issues will be taken care of.

One of the skills I am trying to teach my students is called sequencing.
It is piecing together information from their reading to understand and comprehend what has taken place. I have some examples of sequencing I'm using at the high school level, I have example for 5th grade, and will have sequencing for the 8th grade. If you are teaching something and want me to sequence it for you, just let me know.

I have worked all summer on a 5th grade curriculum and instruction that would tie into the middle school curriculum that would then be aligned with the high school. It would all be vertically aligned and mapped. If anyone would like a sample let me know
