As Military Appreciation Month comes to a close, we are honored to recognize the service and leadership of our faculty members who continue to shape the next generation of physical therapists.
As an Air Force Physical Therapist, Taylor Majerus has provided direct-access and primary care physical therapy services in diverse environments ranging from the Arctic Circle to the deserts of Las Vegas. Through experiences in acute injury triage, rehabilitation, diagnostic imaging, and frontline musculoskeletal care, he has developed the clinical expertise and decision-making skills that are essential in today's healthcare landscape.
Now at Augustana DPT Colorado, he is passionate about helping students build the diagnostic confidence, clinical reasoning, and practical skills needed to serve their communities with excellence.
Thank you to all who have served and continue to serve. Your commitment, leadership, and dedication inspire us every day.

Leadership in healthcare is built through experience, service, and a commitment to meeting patients where they are.
Dr. Cody Butler brings extensive experience practicing within the military’s direct-access and primary care physical therapy models. From supporting cadets at the U.S. Air Force Academy and pioneering musculoskeletal care initiatives at Robins Air Force Base to providing frontline care during humanitarian efforts abroad, his work reflects the impact physical therapists can have across diverse care settings.
Today, those experiences continue to shape the way future physical therapists are prepared for practice at Augustana DPT Colorado. Through service, clinical expertise, and patient-centered care, faculty like Dr. Butler help develop healthcare professionals ready to lead in evolving practice environments.

Physical therapists play a critical role in supporting the health, readiness, and resilience of those who serve. In military settings, PTs often practice in dynamic environments where adaptability, clinical decision-making, and trust are essential.
"As an Air Force PT, I’ve had the opportunity to serve in a wide range of roles and environments, but working in a true primary care physical therapy setting has been especially meaningful. From deployments in Central Command and East Africa to integrated primary care clinics stateside, these experiences reinforced the important role physical therapists play in restoring readiness and supporting service members."
Military physical therapists often work at the top of their scope, providing critical care in dynamic environments and helping patients return to duty, work, and life. Experiences like these continue to shape the next generation of healthcare leaders and reinforce the value of patient-centered, evidence-driven care.
