Our next Summer Session is all about the Summer Solstice on TUESDAY June 23rd!

Today we observe our next shift in the wheel of the year and celebrate the longest day of the year! The bright shining sun is at its highest on the Summer Solstice.

Activities we will be engaging in, are aboriginal dot sun art in our main lesson journals, creating sun pendants with clay, enjoying traditional sunbaked tangerines with our sun tea, golden sun temporary tattoos and more!

Embracing those summer time vibes and counting down to the summer solstice!

We are so excited to meet everyone again in circle this Tuesday! As Spring slowly slips away, our attention will be on the beautiful expansive energy of this shining Summer Season together!

We are so excited to share that Teddy the mini-Highland cow will be visiting our collective June 9th as we kick off our Summer Sessions together. Children will be able to feed, cuddle and brush this absolutely adorable sweetness.

Our first Summer Session begins Tuesday June 9th and it is all about the inner AND outer SUN!

Each child will receive a summer journal which we will decorate and use for our main lesson block in the morning. We will begin our morning with SUN tea, breathwork, energy exercises, brain agility exercises and gratitude.

Our handwork for the day will be weaving a sun wheel!

Our Summer sessions are a more relaxed version of our annual program honoring the vibration of the summer season. Children will have extended times for free play, and we will be learning together in one big group.

June is all about welcoming the next shift in the wheel of the year together; the Summer Solstice!

Summer is an "out breath" in Waldorf and is a time for more expansion, free play, nature immersion and relaxation. Our summer sessions will provide a healthy balance for our children with more free time and exploration but also honoring the need for gentle rhythmic hand crafts like weaving, and knowledge seeking; exploring themes like sun dying, sun dials, sun printing, midsummer and the summer solstice through history.

Our day begins together crafting sun teas, gentle movements and breathwork to start our day together in harmony. We will then move into our main lesson, expanded lunch time and wrap the day up handcrafting under the trees.
