We’re excited to be part of the upcoming Guiding Bright Minds Resource Fair on Saturday, June 13th at Denver Academy!
If you’re attending, be sure to stop by the Humanex table to say hello, learn more about our program, and connect with our team. We always love meeting families, educators, and community members who are passionate about supporting neurodivergent learners.
Know someone exploring school options or looking for resources and support? Send them our way — we’d love to connect!
We hope to see you there!

Last night, we celebrated the incredible Class of 2026 at our Humanex graduation ceremony. 🎓
Each of these graduates has grown in their own unique way through persistence, self-advocacy, courage, connection, and hard work. They have been such an integral part of the Humanex community, and it has been an honor to watch them discover their strengths, build confidence, and prepare for what comes next.
From college programs to careers and new adventures, we know these students are ready to pursue their next paths with purpose. We are so proud of all they have accomplished and grateful for the impact they have had on our school community.
Congratulations to Kenneth, Jake, Alex, Isaac, Henry, and Lindy — we cannot wait to see what you do next. 💙🧡

After a rainy week, the sun showed up just in time for one of our favorite Humanex traditions — Field Day! ☀️
Students spent the morning rotating through stations with their advisement groups, building teamwork, connection, and plenty of laughter along the way. From outdoor games and activities to cheering each other on, it was a great reminder that some of the best moments happen when we simply get to be together.
The fun continued into the afternoon with movies, crafts, games, and time to relax and connect as we wrap up another incredible school year.
We are so grateful for a community that knows how to show up for one another — rain or shine. 💛

Yesterday’s Senior Luncheon was such a meaningful afternoon as we gathered with families to celebrate the Class of 2026 and reflect on each student’s journey at Humanex.
Families shared lunch together, heard directly from our Seniors during a Q&A panel, and then had the opportunity to tour Humanex through the eyes of their students — visiting classrooms, spaces, and staff who helped shape their growth along the way.
The honesty, humor, vulnerability, and self-awareness our Seniors showed was incredibly powerful. A few moments that stayed with us:
“Don’t expect everything to click instantly. It takes time to adapt.” – Isaac
“Life is a video game. It starts out hard. It never gets easier. But with enough practice, you eventually master it.” – Lindy
“I’m proud of myself for stepping up and knowing mistakes happen. That’s life. You learn from the mistakes you make.” – Alex
“Every journey starts with one step… it takes time and eventually you’ll get there and feel comfortable.” – Henry
“I’ve noticed a change in my self-advocacy… now I’m able to advocate for myself more.” – Kenneth
“They don’t highlight the mistake that you made… they show you how to avoid that.” – Jake
One of the greatest gifts of Humanex is watching students grow into people who know themselves, advocate for themselves, and feel comfortable being their authentic selves. Yesterday was a beautiful reminder of just how far this group has come.
We are so proud of each of our Seniors and grateful to the families, staff, and community members who have walked alongside them on this journey.

Yesterday’s Senior Field Trip to the South Suburban Family Sports Center was the perfect mix of fun, connection, reflection, and celebration.
Our seniors spent the day ice skating, climbing, laser tagging, riding bumper cars, sharing lunch together, and enjoying one more chance to simply be together outside of Humanex. Alongside all the fun, students also took time for some meaningful “moving on” conversations and Q&A as graduation approaches.
For the Class of 2026, Humanex has been part of their journey for anywhere from 2 to 7 years. Watching their growth into young adults ready for what comes next has been incredibly special for all of us.
We are so proud of the Class of 2026 and grateful for the families, staff, and community members who have supported them along the way.

Our Junior/Senior Puerto Rico adventure wrapped up with the last couple of days full of challenge, connection, and unforgettable memories. 🌿☀️
Students hiked through the rainforest, explored beautiful natural pools, tackled a natural water slide, and pushed themselves to try cliff jumping and rope swings into the water. They finished the trip soaring through the trees on a zip lining adventure — ending the week with courage, laughter, and a whole lot of celebration.
Trips like this are about so much more than travel. They build confidence, independence, flexibility, friendship, and the kind of real-world experiences that stay with students long after the trip ends. We are so proud of this group for showing up, supporting one another, and embracing every part of the adventure. 💙
A huge thank you again to The Traveling Gnomes for guiding this incredible experience and to Inclusive Navigators for helping make this opportunity possible through their travel grant support.

🐾 Wins of the Week 🧡
This week, our Junior Transition students took a trip to the Humane Society of the South Platte Valley to donate handmade dog toys created from upcycled t-shirts. Students spent time cutting, braiding, and creating toys designed to bring enrichment and comfort to local shelter dogs.
The best part? Getting to meet and play with some of the dogs and puppies who will benefit from their hard work. 🐶
Experiences like these help students build community connections, practice life and vocational skills, and see how small acts of kindness can make a big impact. We are proud of our students for giving back in such a thoughtful and creative way!
