Muscle Activation Techniques MAT® is effective for EVERYONE from elite athletes to rehabilitation patients, and anyone in between; athletes NFL,NBA,NHL etc

As we age, due to various forms of stresses being placed on the body, the muscular system may become less efficient in its contractile abilities. The result of this diminished muscle activity may correlate with many of the physical complaints that we relate to aging. There are many modalities out there that deal specifically with injuries or the degenerative changes that occur with aging; however,

As a personal trainer, Hector Wells noticed a pattern.

Some clients would make progress, while others seemed to continually break down despite doing many of the same things.

Looking for answers, Hector reflected on his own experience with MAT. After benefiting from it throughout high school athletics and weightlifting, he realized MAT could provide the missing piece he had been searching for.

Today, Hector uses MAT to help bridge that gap for the people he works with—giving him another tool to help clients improve, continue progressing, and pursue their goals with greater confidence.

Watch Hector share how his personal experience with MAT inspired him to take the next step and become a practitioner.

Recently, MAT Practitioner Zach Bjornsen worked with a client who had been struggling with hip pain, lower back pain, difficulty sleeping, and pain every time she stood up.

She had tried multiple approaches looking for answers, but nothing seemed to provide the relief she was looking for.

Then during her second MAT session, something happened.

She stood up expecting the same pain she always felt.

It wasn't there.

The realization hit instantly, and she broke down in tears.

Moments like this are a reminder that what we do goes far beyond muscles and movement.

It's about helping people regain confidence in their bodies, improve their quality of life, and experience hope when they thought they had run out of options.

This is why MAT practitioners do what they do.

For some people, movement is more than exercise—it's part of who they are.

Eric Welch has seen firsthand how restoring confidence in movement can help people continue doing the activities they love. Whether it's staying active, pursuing personal goals, or maintaining an independent lifestyle, helping clients move better is at the heart of his work.

Strength and stability aren't always the same thing.

You can lift heavy weights, train hard, and still experience chronic pain, recurring injuries, and movement limitations.

For Greg Roskopf, that realization changed everything.

Despite being strong, he found himself relying on weight belts, knee wraps, orthotics, and other forms of external support. The question became: Why was so much artificial stability necessary?

That question ultimately led to the development of MAT.

What if strength isn't the missing piece?

What if stability is?

The June 2026 MATPro start date is approaching.
