Innovation, mentorship, and a lifelong commitment to advancing veterinary medicine define the career of Jody Lulich, DVM, PhD, DACVIM (SAIM).

As the recipient of the 2026 Robert W. Kirk Award for Professional Excellence, Dr. Lulich is recognized for nearly four decades of groundbreaking contributions to veterinary nephrology and urology. While his pioneering research and clinical innovations have transformed patient care, he is equally celebrated for inspiring creativity, resilience, and compassion in generations of students, residents, colleagues, and mentees.

In the words of his late mentor and past Kirk Award recipient Dr. Carl Osborne, "In my view, as a veterinarian, as an investigator, as an educator, and as a human being, Jody Lulich is one of the finest individuals I have had the privilege to know."

Congratulations Dr. Lulich, and thank you for all you have done to shape veterinary medicine's future leaders.

Service is at the heart of the ACVIM, and few embody that spirit more fully than Chris Sanchez, DVM, PhD, DACVIM (LAIM).

As the recipient of the 2026 Lee & Inge Pyle Service Award, Dr. Sanchez is recognized for her extraordinary leadership, unwavering dedication, and countless volunteer contributions to the ACVIM and the veterinary specialty community. From advancing residency training and certification to leading the Large Animal Internal Medicine specialty through the unprecedented challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, her impact has been both profound and enduring.

Congratulations Dr. Sanchez, and thank you for your remarkable service to the ACVIM and the profession.
