The "iron grip" vs. true foot function: Is your favorite pair of shoes causing silent damage? 👠🚫 Our latest article dives into the 'Dirty Truth' about footwear and idiocy. 🤯
We explore:
✅ Mental fit vs. Physical fit: Why "feels good" in the store can lead to chronic deformity.
👣 The science of 'foot splay' (and why your shoes must allow it!).
📊 How Computer-Aided Gait Analysis (CAGA) proves that fashion-first choices have long-term structural costs.

Every step tells a story. 🦶
Most people don't think twice about how they walk — but the way your foot hits the ground can reveal a lot about what's happening in your joints, muscles, and ligaments.
With Computer Aided Gait Analysis (CAGA), we use pressure sensors, real-time data, and video capture to turn something as simple as a walk into a detailed blueprint of how your body moves. We're talking force, pressure, timing, and motion — all quantified and compared to normative data.
Why does it matter? Because understanding how you move is the first step toward moving better — whether that means managing shock, preventing repetitive micro-trauma, or building a smarter treatment plan.
We've been deep in this work alongside some brilliant minds in biomechanics, and we're excited to keep pushing the science forward. 💡

Look a little closer at your running shoes—what is that inner heel wear trying to tell you? 👟👀
If the fabric inside your shoe collar is wearing down, tearing, or pilling like the ones in this picture, your feet are dropping major hints about your gait and shoe fit:
🔹 The Heel Slip: If the inner heel fabric is shredding, your heel is likely lifting and rubbing against the collar with every single stride.
🔹 The Overpronation Rub: Heavy wear on the inner side of the ankle collar often happens when your foot rolls inward, causing the ankle bone to press hard against the inside upper.
🔹 The Narrow Heel Dilemma: Sometimes, it’s just a mismatch between a wide heel bone and a narrow shoe cup, creating constant friction.
🔹 The Quick Fix: If this looks like your shoes, trying a Runner's Loop lacing technique can instantly lock your heel down and save your fabric (and your heels from blisters!).
Your shoes hold the clues to moving better and staying injury-free.

👟🔥 Proud Mom Energy + Shoe Nerd Energy + 2026 Hacky Sack Renaissance
Not gonna lie — this one makes me proud on multiple levels.
First, that’s my son out there, moving with all the confidence and chaos that childhood is supposed to have.
Second, the shoes. You know I can’t resist a good pair — the biomechanics, the design, the whole story a sneaker tells while it’s in motion. My heart does a little toe‑spring every time.
And third… can we talk about how our hacky sack culture is officially BACK in 2026? The circle, the rhythm, the goofy competitiveness, the “just one more kick” energy — it’s everything I love about movement and community rolled into one tiny bean‑filled sphere.
Proud of my kid. Proud of our shoe game. Proud of the comeback no one saw coming but everyone needed.

If you want to truly understand your running gait and biomechanics, stop looking at the dirt on top and start looking at the rubber outsole on the bottom. Your wear patterns are like a roadmap of your movement:
🔹 The Neutral Zone: Wear on the outer heel and center forefoot means your feet are absorbing shock exactly like they should.
🔹 The Overpronator: Heavy wear on the inner edge means your feet are rolling inward, putting extra stress on your ankles and knees.
🔹 The Supinator: Wear focused strictly down the outer edge means your feet aren't rolling inward enough to absorb the impact.
🔹 The Zero-Drop Striker: Heavy wear under the ball of the foot (especially common in Altras!) shows a strong midfoot-to-forefoot landing.
Your shoes hold the clues to running stronger and staying injury-free.

The gait analysis world is currently caught between two worlds: The Gold Standard Reliability of fixed platforms and the Agile Wild West of mobile AI and wireless sensors. 🏃♂️💻
The Conundrum: Do you go for the stability of a fixed, high-res plate that measures exactly what's happening? Or do you opt for the rapid updates and movement freedom of in-shoe sensors and AI video?
Precision is a choice, but stability is a lifestyle. 🛠️✨
Which side of the tech fence are you on?
