What if behavior isn’t the problem—it’s the signal? In this conversation, we unpack how understanding the “why” behind children’s actions can completely transform the way educators teach, respond, and build relationships in the classroom.

Saba is the Founder of SKA Education, Training and Consulting, where she works with early childhood educators, leaders, and programs to create meaningful, lasting change. Over the course of 25 years in early childhood education, she has rooted her work in understanding the “why” behind behavior, using neuroscience, trauma-informed practices, and real-world strategies to shift how educators support children. Through training, coaching, and leadership development, she helps break cycles and build environments where both children and educators can thrive.

Water safety starts with all of us. đź’§

As our Health & Safety Coordinator, Megan Chapman reminds us that protecting children goes beyond the classroom. It’s a shared responsibility at home, in care settings, and in our communities. With children naturally drawn to water, active supervision is essential. Always keep little ones within arm’s reach near any water source.

From bathtubs to pools, small steps like constant supervision, secure barriers, and CPR-ready caregivers can make a lifesaving difference. Our programs stay proactive through strong safety protocols and ongoing training, while families can reinforce these habits every day.

Together, through conversations like those in our Health Mental Health and Safety Advisory Committee, we’re building safer environments for every child.
