Welcome Back Warriors!

The new school year is officially underway at BRAVE Academy this week, and it has been such an exciting start with our Paideia conference and first-day celebration.

This year our theme comes from a simple but bold calling: “Let all that you do be done in love.” (1 Corinthians 16:14) In every lesson, every conversation, and every thought, that’s our aim each and every day.

The smiles on our students’ faces, the joyful community, and the deep desire to seek His truth and wisdom are what classical Christian education at BRAVE Academy is all about.

Wonderful summer news from BRAVE Academy! Our leadership team was honored to receive accreditation while attending the Society for Classical Learning Conference, themed “Overflowing Generosity – Embracing God's Abundance.”

It was a truly honoring experience to stand with so many other schools who share our commitment to a Christ-centered classical education. The fellowship and speakers were rewarding, and we came home with many inspiring takeaways that we’re already excited to implement at our school. We’re deeply grateful for God’s abundant grace and for every family who partners with us in this mission.

Washington DC has been an incredible experience for the students of BRAVE Academy!

Today we received the very rare opportunity to experience the White House up close. Walking in the very rooms where history was made and humbled by the legacy of our presidential leaders.

Overall, this student trip has been a phenomenal journey watching America come alive through its monuments, memorials, and institutions. We are grateful beyond words!

“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, The people whom He has chosen for His own inheritance.” - Psalms‬ ‭33‬:‭12‬

Our pastors challenged our warriors at this week's chapel to see faith as an active, intentional process. It was a powerful reminder to our students that true Christian character is about constructive work to build up, because it is far easier to tear things down, just as Christ showed us by taking the cross.

"fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of FAITH, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God." Hebrews 12:2

We are raising up young men and women who walk by faith, not by sight. Whether facing a spelling bee or the challenges of daily life, our scholars are learning that true strength is not self-mad, but it is a gift that comes from the Lord through faith placed in Him alone.

“For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God.” Ephesians 2:8 (NASB95) – The Virtue of Faith

Our young men truly embodied the virtue of temperance at our recent Mother-Son Dinner. Acting as dignified gentlemen who honored their mothers with respect, poise, and self-control.

We are so proud of these future leaders! Additionally, thank you to the many volunteers who made this a wonderful night to remember.

"Everyone who competes in the games exercises self-control in all things. They then do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable." - 1 Corinthians 9:25

📚 In celebration of National Read Across America Day last week, BRAVE Academy students spent time delighting in the gift of reading through a variety of special activities and literary stations.

As part of the celebration, we also hosted a Book Fair that raised over $450 for our school library! We are grateful for the generosity of our families and the shared commitment to cultivating a love of good books!

Our BRAVE Academy students practice cultivating the virtue of temperance through accurate measure, courage, and self-control to accurately hit the bullseye. This is classical Christian education lived out in meaningful ways that will truly make an impact – right on target!

“Now for this very reason also, applying all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence, and in your moral excellence, knowledge, and in your knowledge, self-control, and in your self-control, perseverance, and in your perseverance, godliness.” - 2 Peter 1:5-6

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23 (NASB95)

Our students interact with timeless literature in deep and meaningful ways. In these rich moments like these, we witness the cultivation of temperance — the self-control that allows them to focus on their minds, engage in ideas thoughtfully, and respond with wisdom. Forming young hearts that pursue the Good, True, and Beautiful which ultimately point back to Christ Jesus.
