Can you run? Let's be honest here. The last time most of us ran fast or long was in highschool gym class. Outrunning an 18 year old thug maybe a bit of a fantasy. Of course besides physical ability, circumstances may limit your choices. You may be in an elevator, between cars in a lot, with children or otherwise constrained. If immediate escape and evasion is not an option, you must seize the moment. Hesitate and it could be bad. Surprise, speed and violence of action win the day. Can you do it? Learn how. Call today. Private self-defense instruction for real peaple.

Some New Years Clubbing Safety Tips.
1. Know where your going. Know the ID and dress code requirements. Do they have a coat check?Nothing sucks more than freezing in line.
2. Many clubs have door security processes to keep everyone safe. Know you are being observed and your behavior and attitude vetted from the moment you enter the line. Be polite, don't act messed up or aggressive. Be cooperative or they will just deny you and they can deny anyone.
3. Don't bring weapons, like guns, knives, pepper spray with you if it is a secured facility. Dont try to sneak shooters, drugs, v**e pens drugs, liquids or weapons past security. You may get one chance to return the items to your car, maybe not. Sucks to wait an hour in line then get kicked out for trying to bring in something stupid.
4. Go with some trustworthy, caring, sane friends who will notice if your impaired or missing, and care enough to look for you and help you.
5. Have a designated sober person to drive and/ or watch out for the group.
6. Carry your ID, phone, essentials on your body secured. Never leave your purse, etc. unattended.
7. Be sure your phone is charged. It is good practice to have your address and emergency contact info memorized. Phones can get lost and stolen.
8. Get your own drinks, cover and guard those drinks. Never taste or accept a drink or anything else from strangers. Drugging in clubs is an unfortunate reality as a date r**e tactic. If you suddenly feel weird, tell a REAL friend or seek out a staff member. They can take effect fast and hard.
9. Drink water to avoid dehydration.
10. Travel in groups to keep an eye on each other. Predators look for impaired and isolated targets.
Have fun, stay safe, and have a great New Year!

She was girl number two. A probable target for kidnapping and sexual assualt. The first case we preempted. An alert customer noticed a boy reaching around appearing to try and drop something into her drink.
Girl number two was a young 23, dressed for a Summer rave, but in subzero weather, she came alone. She swayed to the music and sipped her drink when it hit her. She was feeling drunk, but this was her first drink. She did the right thing. Instead of accepting the help of the males next to her she quickly sought out a female staff member and told her what was happening. They arranged a ride and a meet up with her brother. Then they bought her to me as the Door Supervisor.
We waited together and holding tightly to me, we walked down the street and got her loaded and off safely. A later phone called confirmed she was safely with her family. As we talked she was deathly afraid someone would follow her home. Why? It happened before! This was not the first time she was a likely victim of date r**e drugging at a club. She was far from the first we noticed and have saved.
Now, everyone gets vetted and patted down at the club door, but yes sometimes stuff gets in. Ladies. Rule number one. Never, go alone and be super careful with your drinks. Rule number two, select your friends carefully. Watch and care for each other. Seems rarer these days. Rule number three, without saying, someone stay sober. Finally if you feel weird go find a staff member. Please be safe this week and have fun. For other tips and self-defense concepts and methods, give us a call.

The best fight you can have is the one you avoid. Awareness, avoidance, and deescalation are essential.
Sometimes you can not avoid it. Deescalation is not possible, and the threat level is increasing. In this case, you use whatever level of force is reasonable to stop the threat. We don't aim to kill. We dont intend to maim. We apply the level of force needed to stop the threat, no more and no less. We will go home safe.
If this view resonates with you, we are a great fit! If you want personalized private or small group instruction provided by real people without the ego trip and the stress of more traditional schools, let's connect. Give us a call and we can talk about making it happen.

I was promoted to 4th Degree Black Belt recently in Combat Hapkido. Its my favorite combat arts system. Its very comprehensive. We have the empty hand stand-up program, a ground survival, tactical pressure points, and weapons components. Its also very scalable. You can simply escape a grab, es**rt a drunk relative or patron out of a bar, fight multiple attackers, or kill a terrorist. Fun times.
