“You probably have come across this question: Why don’t they leave? Why did they stay? If their lives are so bad, why don’t they just leave? This question can be very discouraging to a lot of victims, and it also shows a lack of empathy and knowledge of the psychology of abuse. The answer is not quite simple and we are going to dig more into those “whys”, so we can have more empathy for our community and learn more about the dynamics of abuse” (Ahn And Maciel).
