Today is a day to pause, reflect, and recognize an important part of our shared history.
We honor what Juneteenth represents — and the people whose perseverance and courage made it possible. 🙏
That and we laugh a lot.
This is Integrity Martial Arts Of Enfield CT where children, families and adults pursue a path of confidence, focus, discipline, passion, excellence and self defense.

Not every activity is the right fit for every child — and that’s honestly fine.
The environment matters as much as the activity. The right place is the one where your kid wants to come back, tries harder without being asked, and stays engaged on their own. 💪
Come see if we’re that place for your family.
Have you noticed how much the kids around your kid… start to shape your kid?
Who they sit next to. Who they look up to. How those kids handle frustration, take turns, talk to adults — it all rubs off, whether they realize it or not. 👥
That’s why the environment matters as much as the activity. In class, your child is surrounded by kids who are learning to listen, focus, and root for each other. Not perfect kids. Just kids being pointed in the right direction, together. 🙂
Peer pressure is one of the strongest forces in a kid’s life. We work hard to make sure it’s pulling the right way. ⚡

Mondays set the tone for the whole week.
If things have been feeling a little off lately, you don’t need a whole new system — you just need a couple of small anchors:
• Start the day without rushing (even 10 extra minutes helps). 🙇
• Get them moving early, even if it’s something simple. 🕗
• Talk through what the day looks like so there are no surprises. ✅
• Give them something to look forward to later. 🤩
Nothing fancy. Just small, consistent habits that quietly make the week better.

Our new facility is not just a beautiful place to practice self defense.
It is a place to develop confidence, focus, and respect. These are not just ideas we aspire too, they are things we train like a punch or a kick. They are a skill. They are a prerequisite for their next rank. They are a product of our systems and plans for our students.

The best years are to come for Sensei Janice Morton
When I first met Janice, she was just starting a family and I was a few years out of college.
Since then I have watched her build a home life and a career of service to children. I have seen her invent, reinvent, overcome, inspire, get knocked down and back in the saddle more times than I can recall. She is a force and a close friend whom I admire and love deeply.
We are lucky to have her here as part of Integrity Martial Arts.
Please wish her happy birthday in your comments.
Not every kid walks in confident on day one.
Some take a little longer to warm up. Some watch from the edge before they’re ready to jump in. Some need a few classes before they’ll even make eye contact with the coach. 💚
That’s not a problem. That’s the starting line. What matters is that they have a place where it’s safe to keep showing up and trying again. Confidence isn’t a personality — it’s self-trust built one rep at a time. 💫

Anybody else have a kid who’s “exhausted” all day… and then hits 9pm with the energy of a small jet engine? 😅
Usually that late-night burst is a sign they didn’t fully burn off what was in the tank. A structured, active outlet earlier in the day — something that makes them move AND focus — tends to take the edge off bedtime.
Not magic. Just one of those small habits that quietly makes the whole evening easier. 🙌

You don’t always notice your child growing until you stop long enough to see it.
The way they handled something this week that would’ve melted them down a year ago. The way they responded instead of reacted. A small, quiet shift you almost missed.
That’s how this actually works. Tiny, consistent steps that compound into someone you’re proud of. 💛

Parents… quick question. 😅
Why do kids suddenly need a snack every twenty minutes the second school ends? Nothing has changed… and somehow everything has changed. 🤪
Small win for the summer: keep a few simple go-to snacks ready — fruit 🍎, yogurt, cheese sticks, anything grab-and-go. It tends to keep them satisfied a little longer and gets you out of the role of full-time snack manager. 😂
