We invited John for our opening in-service day in our district. John's message was both inspiring and self reflective. It helped us focus on why we are in education - to connect with students on their level, and the impact we can have in changing their lives. John included his life experiences in education and sprinkled in wonderful humor that kept everyone engaged so they could have a 'fresh mind' to start the year.

John was genuine, caring, and passionate about helping our educators and it showed through his interactions with the audience and with each individual person he spoke with at the conclusion of his address. Our administrative team has already started discussing plans to have John back to speak with our faculty again AND our students! John is a genius, a gifted public speaker, and his message rings true with every person that works in a school setting! Thank you John!

On this Night Before the First Day of Kindergarten, I found myself reminiscing about the most enjoyable and meaningful in-service day you created for us at Panther Valley School District, and I just wanted to personally thank you!

Thank you for making the trek to our little bubble... in the dark! Thank you for sharing your laughter, your experiences, and your wisdom with us. Most of all, thank you for motivating us and helping to reignite that fire within each of us—a fire that, after being knocked down a few times here and there, can sometimes begin to dim.

You reminded us why we do what we do and gave us a little extra fuel to keep going, keep believing, and keep making a difference.

Thank you for being you and for sharing a piece of yourself with us. It truly made a difference, and I am so grateful.

Yesterday’s BOE retreat with John Perricone was an energizing and thought-provoking experience. John brought great energy to the room, engaged us in meaningful conversation, and challenged us to explore our “why.” He posed questions that encouraged us to reflect on our inspirations, our philosophical identities, and what motivates us to serve in our roles. Most importantly, he pushed us to think deeply about who we are as leaders and how we can make a meaningful impact on our students, staff, and community.

Having observed him speak with staff, students, and during an open forum at a local high school, I found his presentations to be both inspiring and authentic. He brings a wealth of educational experience to every discussion, and his ability to connect that experience to the realities of today’s schools is remarkable.

We were deeply honored to welcome Mr. John Perricone back to Silver Stage High School for a second visit as our featured speaker for Teacher Appreciation Day. His message offered our staff a powerful and moving reminder of the extraordinary influence teachers have each and every day, while also emphasizing the importance of approaching our work with "Sho-Shin" — a beginner’s mind that remains open to growth, reflection, and new possibilities.

The inspiration and encouragement he provided during his presentation resonated profoundly with our teachers, many of whom left feeling renewed, affirmed, and deeply appreciated in their calling as educators.

Mr. Perricone also spoke directly to our students through his assembly, Developing Inner Strength, where he challenged them with sincerity and compassion to resist destructive choices such as drinking and driving, substance use, and negative peer pressure. At the same time, he highlighted the transformative power of positive peer influence, personal responsibility, and inner courage.

I wanted to reach out to you personally to thank you for your presentation at the Union-Endicott Superintendent’s Day. Your session was the highlight of the day. Truly inspiring. The weekend after the conference, I read your book “Zen and the Art of Public School Teaching” and was reminded of the many anecdotes you told, the lessons they conveyed, and the very practical advice shared. The word that comes to mind as I reflect on both the presentation and the book is “revitalizing.” Indeed, the book has remained in my satchel since the March conference day. It has become a talisman of sorts, and I’ve decided that it will become a yearly read for me. Exactly the sort of energizing wisdom needed before the start of each new year. Thank you again.
