The 43rd year of the UE Italian Exchange program has officially started. We will have 13 UE students going to Italy next year in April. Please watch this page for all of our fundraising activities. And as always, thank you for your on going support of this program and our students. 🇺🇸 🇮🇹

Roma - la città più bella del mondo!
The most beautiful city in the world!

The group had an incredible day! The sky was so blue, and it felt like a summer day.

After breakfast, they went to the Colosseum and learned so much about Roman history. On April 21, the city celebrates its birthday, so on the closest Sunday to this date, they held a huge historical parade!

After lunch, they visited the Forum, Vittoriano, Piazza Venezia, Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps, Via Condotti, and the Pantheon. They even had their last gelato!

They drove back to the hotel to pack. Around 6:00 pm, they went for a passeggiata (a leisurely walk) and some window shopping. Then they walked to the restaurant for dinner.

They have a long day tomorrow. They are coming home!!!

Arrivederci Firenze! Buongiorno Roma!

The group left Florence around 8:00 a.m. and arrived at the hotel before noon. After eating pasta alla gricia, they headed to the Vatican Museums. Their guide told them there is so much art that it would take years to see everything!

They visited the beautiful Sistine Chapel and then went inside the Basilica of St. Peter, where they watched part of a concert! The Ca****la Musicale Giulia della Basilica Papale di San Pietro (English: Julia Chapel of the Papal Basilica of St. Peter) was performing behind the main altar. It was beautiful!!

They learned about the Holy Door, which they open every 25 years. They saw Michelangelo's Pietà and many other fascinating artworks!

Then they strolled through St. Peter's Square, surrounded by its iconic columns. They saw the Swiss Guards, monuments, the obelisk, the fountains, and more.

After buying souvenirs, they went shopping on the pedestrian-only Viale Ottaviano, with its many stores. They ended the day with a pizza dinner. It was a busy, very warm day, but it was so nice to see Vatican City!

Tomorrow, they are going to explore and learn more about this incredible city!!

A beautiful day in Florence.
This morning, the group had a nice continental breakfast and then went to the Uffizi Gallery to learn about history and art.

After that, they explored the city, touched the nose of the Porcellino (for good luck), visited Ponte Vecchio, and went to lunch at San Lorenzo. This is a neighborhood with a famous market (leather). In the afternoon they had yummy gelato, and went to the Accademia to see the original statue of David, more art, and musical instruments (Stradivari).

After Piazza Della Signora, Duomo, Battistero, and Campanile, some of the students did some shopping, and some went to the station to catch a bus for Piazzale Michelangelo (top of the hill with breath taking views of the city!!).

They all regrouped at the restaurant for dinner and then went back to the hotel.
Tonight, they pack to go to Rome tomorrow !!

Arrivederci Varese! Andiamo a Firenze!

The Americans left Varese this morning! It was sad to say goodbye to their friends and host families!
They went to Florence (Firenze) by bus.
It was a long trip due to traffic in the Milan area. They arrived in Florence around 1:00 pm. They met their guide and went downtown for lunch, visited Santa Croce and went to see how they work leather. The weather was gorgeous!
After some shopping and a nice dinner, they walked back to their hotel.
