Don't Let Summer Break Slip Away
Summer is the perfect time to build the skills that make learning easier and more successful when school starts again.
Instead of spending the fall catching up, invest in your child's cognitive growth now. Strengthening memory, attention, processing speed, comprehension, and executive functioning during the summer can lead to smoother homework sessions, improved confidence, and greater academic success throughout the school year.
At Encinitas Learning Center, we create customized brain training programs designed around each student's unique strengths and needs. Our one-on-one training helps students develop the foundational cognitive skills that support learning, reading, focus, organization, and memory.
A stronger brain today means an easier school year tomorrow.
Schedule a Brain Skills Assessment and discover how personalized brain training can help your child start the new school year stronger, more confident, and ready to succeed.
Memory skills can be strengthened in children as young as 6 years old through targeted brain training.
Each student receives a personalized memory training plan designed around their unique strengths, challenges, and goals.
Through one-on-one sessions, students participate in specialized exercises that strengthen working memory, long-term memory, attention, and other essential cognitive skills that support learning and academic success.
The process begins with a conversation about your child's needs and goals, followed by a Brain Skills Assessment to identify areas for growth and create a customized training program.
Strengthening memory today can lead to greater confidence, learning success, and independence tomorrow.

Lynda Detweiler is the Founder and Director of the Encinitas Learning Center, where she has spent over three decades pioneering work in speech-language pathology, cognitive therapy, and brain-based learning interventions. Since establishing the center in 1997, she has dedicated her career to helping students with learning differences—such as dyslexia, ADHD, and auditory processing disorders—unlock their full potential through targeted cognitive training and individualized support.
Her legacy is defined not only by innovation in neurocognitive therapy but by measurable impact: thousands of students and families have experienced life-changing improvements in academic performance, confidence, and independence under her guidance. By focusing on foundational skills like processing speed, memory, and executive function, she has helped transform outcomes for learners who previously struggled in traditional educational environments. (ELC)
It is a true honor to welcome her back for a second year as a featured speaker at the Annual NeuroTech Convention of SBMT 2026. This prestigious international forum brings together leading experts in neuroscience, medicine, and technology, and her continued presence reflects both the significance of her work and the growing recognition of cognitive therapy’s role in advancing brain health and learning science.
At the Encinitas Learning Center, students and their families benefit directly from Lynda’s lifelong dedication, expertise, and innovation in speech-language therapy and cognitive training.
