Well, I may have accidentally started a weekly recap tradition, and now there’s no turning back 😅
Week 3 was all about bells. Jingle bells, resonator bells and even a full body ‘bell orchestra’ where the kids became the bells themselves, swinging, dinging and lots of donging!
Now that everyone is settling into the music, we explored layering sound by adding in live harmonies with the grown ups so the children could feel the music all around them.
Even our busiest movers and explorers paused long enough to take it all in ✨

Week 2 of our Spring Session 💛
This week focused on building the foundations of music, singing in tune and feeling a steady beat.
A sweet moment was hearing even our youngest babies begin to match pitch in their own way. As we sang together, you could hear their little vocalizations trying to align with the group. This is where singing in tune begins!
We explored duple and triple meters by getting them into our bodies. Movement helps children internalize rhythm while supporting coordination, listening and early language development.
Even our peekaboo activity had a purpose. That playful “boo” helps children anticipate musical timing and respond to cues in a rhythmical silly way.
We also explored rhythm through connection, with parents tapping the beat on their child. This simple purposeful touch helps children feel rhythm while staying connected to their grown-up. We played with both micro beats (the quicker pulses) and macro beats (the steady beat), noticing how younger children gravitate toward the micro beats while older children begin organizing them into the larger beat.
And one of my favorite moments was inviting ideas from our big kids. When children improvise, they are creating, leading and feeling a sense of belonging in our music circle.
And just like that, onto Week 3 🎶💛

Week One of Spring 🌸
New friends, familiar faces, and new music to explore!
We climbed, munched, and bounced like little squirrels, building coordination, imagination, and connection between parent and child along the way.
Through vocables, little ones tuned into melody first, helping them absorb music more naturally.
We rode fast and slow to William Tell, explored big and little beats, and got a lil’ funky on the drums, all supporting rhythm and beat awareness.
We played with tonal patterns, giving little ears a foundation for how music works.
We ended each class with a family jam session, followed by our sweet and calming lullaby, “Su La Li” 💛
Music, movement, and community, all in one morning🌷
