San Diego Flute Academy San Diego Flute Academy is a friendly, inspiring, and supportive environment to learn how to play the flute and take your flute playing to the next level!

Yay Flute! Encinitas Flute Studio is a friendly, inspiring, and supportive environment to learn the art of flute playing. Private flute lessons provide an emphasis on technical, musical and performance skills as applied to standard flute repertoire. For more serious flute students, additional classes and music education tracks are offered to prepare for competitions and evaluations such as MTAC's

Certificate of Merit, Royal Conservatory's Music Development Program, orchestra auditions, and pre-college preparation. Students participate in a bi-annual flute recital for family and friends to showcase flute music in a supportive setting.

Miles played his first duet with me in his lesson today! I’m so proud of this kid for being able to read the notes, count, and play with someone else after only a couple months of lessons. Go Miles!

Sound check for the big event tonight… induction into the MTAC’s Young Artist Guild and Concert. Good luck to Eva Kurima, one of 6 young musicians chosen from the state of CA, who will be performing Poulenc Sonata 1st mvt, and Ganne’s Andante et Scherzo.

1st Place NSD MTAC Senior Scholarship– Eva Kurima ($1350) – flute student of Alina Steele

Eva Kurima is a senior at Sage Creek High School and will attend UC San Diego this fall. She is very passionate about music and began studies in 4th grade. Eva is the principal flutist in the San Diego Youth Symphony. She has also participated in MTAC’s Certificate of Merit program, completing the Advanced Level and earning branch and state honors on several occasions. Additionally, Eva will be inducted into Young Artist Guild on June 26th at the MTAC Convention in Los Angeles; YAG is the highest state honor for MTAC. She hopes to pursue pediatric medicine while continuing her musical studies and performance at UCSD.

Congratulations to my student Mina Park (9th grade) on being accepted into the Advanced Orchestra of the Mainly Mozart Youth Orchestra (MMYO)!! 👏👏👏 this is a fantastic group with a killer audition (including excerpts from Prokofiev Classical Symphony, Saint-Saëns Birds, Mendelssohn 4).
