The Integrated Behavioral Health Project has developed an updated “Partners in Health: Mental Health, Primary Care and Substance Use Inter-agency Collaboration Tool Kit”, sponsored by the California Health Services Authority’s Statewide Stigma and Discrimination Reduction Initiative. It was designed to help primary care clinics and behavioral health agencies forge collaborative relationships and provides job descriptions; sample agreements and contracts; screening instruments and evaluation measures; operational forms; strategies and prototypes for integrating mental and physical services; practical advice; issues to consider when brokering agreements; mutual role descriptions and much more.

Tracy L. Fried & Associates, Inc. (TLFA) utilizes Conversation Café as a vehicle to initiate the strategic planning process, working in close partnership with your agency. As the facilitator, TLFA will take care of hosting the Conversation Café activity gathering and synthesizing outcomes of the Café dialogues. To better serve the unique needs of Military First Responders, TLFA modified and updated their First Responders training. The Military First Responders Training was designed with input from Veterans, a clinical therapist for military and law enforcement personnel and a former Navy Seal turned firefighter. The Military First Responders training focuses on situations unique to Military First Responders such as Traumatic Brain Injury and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.
The training focuses on:
- Identifying Mental Health Crises with an Emphasis on PTSD and Traumatic Brain Injury
- Recognizing Signs and Symptoms of Mental Illness
- Understanding What Trauma is and How to Best Respond to Someone being Affected by It
- Gaining New Tools and Building Resources to Respond with a Trauma-Informed Approach

In the spring of 2012, Tracy L. Fried & Associates, Inc. (TLFA) was contracted by the County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency, Behavioral Health Services Division with funding from the MHSA to develop and deliver 20 trainings for First Responders in understanding and responding with a trauma informed care approach to individuals experiencing a mental health crisis. These trainings were developed with input collected via focus groups and informal interviews with cross-disciplinary First Responders and representatives from the Psychiatric Emergency Response Team (PERT) Academy to ensure that the information was consistent with and would complement their trainings while meeting CEU approval.
The training focuses on:

- Understanding What Trauma is and How to Best Respond to Someone being Affected by It
