The National Weather Service in Topeka has issued a

* Tornado Warning for...
Southern Lyon County in east central Kansas...

* Until 1045 PM CDT.

* At 1007 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a
tornado was located 8 miles east of Strong City, moving east at 20
mph.

HAZARD...Tornado and golf ball size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree
damage is likely.

* Locations impacted include...
Emporia, Olpe, and Neosho Rapids.

This includes the following highways...
Interstate 35 between mile markers 128 and 142.
Kansas Turnpike between mile markers 116 and 132.
TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest
floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a
mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter
and protect yourself from flying debris.

Painting the way for summer theatre’s ‘Cabaret’ 🎨

2013 ESU Alumnus Noah Mefford-Lee returned to this week to be the scenic charge for “Cabaret.” Students learned current painting techniques for stage and television.

Mefford-Lee, who now lives in New York City, is the scenic charge for CBS Broadcast Center. He works as the lead painter for shows such as but not limited to “CBS Evening News," "CBS Mornings," "The Drew Barrymore Show" and any CBS Special Events including the Super Bowl.
