Tune in to the Community Impact Challenge Finals on Thursday, Nov. 3, at 5 p.m.

The CIC is a grant competition where Emporia State University student teams propose creative ideas to address challenges facing the ESU or greater Emporia community. The winning team will receive $500 to carry out their idea.

This year we have two finalist teams:
Brighten Up ESU — Jack Jaworski, Makayla Kusmaul, Derrick Maxwell, and Logan Trask
Care Kits for Change — Joslyn Clem, Percy Holt, Erin McNeley-Phelps, and Sam Watts
The finals will be airing on Hornet Live (emporia.edu/live). The finalists are invited to prepare video presentations for their final pitches. The virtual program at 5 p.m. includes their presentations, comments from the judges, and the announcement of the winners.

Corky’s Cupboard, ESU’s on-campus food pantry, is here for you! Stop by Corky’s Cupboard in the Memorial Union for fresh produce, non-perishables, frozen items, and toiletries. The ACES & AT&T Learning Fund even offers FREE school supplies including notebooks, notecards, pens, and post-its, to name a few.

Associated Sudent Governmenr is hosting an ESU clean-up day in recognition of Earth Day! They want to get students out and active in the community again. This event is on April 21st at 4 PM in Kellogg Circle! Masks are REQUIRED! Gloves and Trash Bags will be provided. Check Hornet Life for more information!
