Earlier this month, our Blue Key Society was proud to send 5 members to Clemson University for the Blue Key National Conference
We celebrated Dr. Sam Hayes and Jeannene Hayes receiving the Distinguished Service Award, and our advisor Cherie Crisp being honored with the Outstanding Advisor Award.
We are also incredibly proud of Mia Rodriguez, who spoke in a breakout session on “How to Rebrand Yourself as a Young Leader in Today’s Day and Age,” inspiring students to see leadership beyond the title.
One of the most meaningful moments was connecting with collegiate leaders nationwide and participating in a service project creating blankets for veterans, tied to Clemson’s history.
Thank you to everyone who made this experience possible, we left inspired and ready to grow as leaders!

This weekend several members of the organization traveled to Clemson University to attend the Nationa Blue Key Conference. Members took this time to network with other chapters, complete a service project of making blankets and writing thank you notes to our Veteran’s, and utilizing this weekend to present to other chapters. The weekend concluded with the annual awards ceremony with our advisor Cheri Crisp winning “Most Outstanding Advisor” and Dr Sam and Jeanne e Hayes being honored with the “ Distinguished Service Award” for providing lifelong service to our local chapter and fulfilling the motto “Serving I Live”. National Office also provided us with our plaque for being recognized in 2025 with the highest honor a chapter can receive “Director’s Choice Award”.

Blue Key alumni! Did you know our chapter won 3 National Awards last year during the Annua Blue Key Leadership conference and that our advisor is Vice President on the National Board? We are so proud of our members and would love to send our members to conference in January at Clemson University, where they will have a chance to develop their leadership skills and network with other chapters, but we need your help. We are asking for you to consider donating to their crowdfunding campaign to help them achieve this goal. Thank you

Tonight was the Emporia State Associated Student Government Awards. Blue Key was nominated for3 awards. Outstanding Event, Outstanding Student Organization and Outstanding Advisor. Our annual Hayes Lecture won Outstanding Event. Several Blue Key members also walked away with some great awards. So great to see such amazing leaders emerging from Blue Key!
