Our Keynote session is with Janet Bufalino from Point Park University. Janet was a reading specialist at a K-6 elementary school in Pennsylvania before joining the faculty at Shippensburg University. She served as the Teacher Education Department Chair for 27 years before retiring. Now she adjuncts for Point Park University.

One of our afternoon sessions is with Teddy Roop from Emporia State University and Kathleen Howe from Park University over the topic of decoding the Science of Reading (SOR) from A-Z.

Teddy Roop teaches reading courses in the department of Elementary Education / Early Childhood / Special Education. She was a former elementary school teacher and a student-teacher mentor. Her research interests include assessments and interventions for struggling readers, MTSS-tiered instruction, and the impact of policy on eduction.

Kathleen Howe teaches undergraduate and graduates courses in the School of Education. She is the program coordinator for a Master's in Language and Literacy that has pathways leading to certification in special reading and ELL. Her research interests include literacy coaching, adolescent literacy, and education policy issues.

Rebekah Curry is the public services supervisor. She holds a BA in classical languages from the University of Kansas and an MSIS from the University of Texas at Austin.

Shari Scribner is the archivist for the Emporia State University Special Collections and Archives, which houses several significant children's literature collections. She holds a BSED in secondary social science education from Pittsburg State University and a Master of Library Science from Emporia State University.

Annie Opat is the Trainer and Director of Reading Recovery at Emporia State University. Annie has served as the Chair and vice-Chair of the NATG Teaching and Development Committee and is currently Chair of the NATG Research Commitee and the Foundation for Struggling Readers, through RRCNA.

What are some of the current trends and issues in the esports industry? In this virtual workshop, Dr. Mark LaSota gives an introduction to some of these issues, including but not limited to the level of stress and anxiety many esports athletes encounter. This workshop also includes an exclusive interview with members of the ESU Esports RSO, Nathan Goodwin (President) and Zeke Zeller.

Mark LaSota, PhD, is a Clinical Assistant Professor for the Sport Management Department at Texas A&M University. Prior to this role, he spent two years as Assistant Professor and Director of the Sports Leadership and Recreation Program at Emporia State University. He is a published author, an entrepreneur, and has provided leadership and performance consulting for several organizations.
