JOB OPENING: Fisheries Technician (Emporia, KS)
This limited term full-time position is located in the Fisheries Division at the Emporia Research and Survey Office.
The Fisheries Technician will conduct field work related to removal, suppression, containment, and monitoring of invasive carp in the Missouri and Arkansas River basins according to the direction of the Invasive Carp Biologist and the Aquatic Nuisance Species Coordinator.
No college degree is required, however a Bachelor’s degree in a fisheries science/management or wildlife science/management and two years of relevant technical experience in an environmental field and/or program is preferred. Education may be substituted by the agency as necessary.
Starting pay is $18.51/hour; immediate group health and life insurance coverage; retirement; optional deferred compensation, dental and vision options; holidays; and sick, vacation, and parental leave.
