📣 NEW 2026–2027 FCPS Volunteer Registration 📣

Frederick County Public Schools is grateful for the families and community members who give their time to support our students and schools!

This year, required volunteer training is built directly into the online application. No separate training platform or account is needed.

To become an FCPS volunteer:

➡️ Complete the online application in English or Spanish.
➡️ Watch the required training video in its entirety (about 25 minutes in English or 31 minutes in Spanish).
➡️ Submit your application and allow approximately 24 hours for processing.
➡️ Once approved, contact your school to learn about volunteer opportunities.

Training cannot be skipped or fast-forwarded, so plan to complete the training and application in one sitting.

Underclassman parents … we are in need of help to pick up food for the Safe and Sane Graduation Party on June 3!! We still need a couple people willing to pick up food and bring it to Mount Saint Mary’s for the Seniors to enjoy during their graduation party. The food has already been ordered, we just need willing people to pick it up and deliver it around 6ish. If you are interested please contact us at:

Class of 2027 Safe and Sane Committee and future Safe & Sane events

As we are preparing for our current seniors graduation, the team is already organizing for 2027 and the Safe and Sane Committee needs you!

Would you like to see your student experience the long tradition of the LHS Graduation Party??

We urgently need volunteers to serve as Chairs for next year's LHS 2027 Graduation Party!!

The 2026 event marks the 39th year of this tradition. Now it needs new leadership to continue into next year - making it to 40 years. Without someone stepping up, this tradition WILL NOT continue.

This is the ideal time to step in—you’ll shadow and train with Jill & Nate McKinstry the remainder of this year. Jill & Nate have led it for the past five years and are stepping down after this year. They will walk you through the process and support you next year.

Chair responsibilities include:

Schedule meetings
Handle contracts
Communicate with parents/volunteers
Manage finances and budgets
Work with established committee leads (or replace as needed)
If you want to help continue a great tradition, please email [email protected] your willingness to lead. Those interested should plan to lead for two years or more. Best if handled by a couple or two friends.

LHS - Senior Graduation Party Fundraiser:

We really need your help - we are running out of time and without your help it is difficult to earn the money needed to run a great Graduation Party.

We are looking for 15+ "teams" to help deliver candy filled easter eggs. We have found that the best configuration is a parent who helps drive and then student(s) that then hide the eggs. It is a lot of fun and many families have helped year after year. Below is a summary and the sign up:

When: April 4
Where: Pick up eggs around 6pm at LHS Parking Lot
How Long: Routes take no more than 2 hours
What is Expected: Receive a route of 10-15 homes an deliver and hide eggs before 9pm

We are referring to the teams that help as the "Bunny Brigade"!!! It only takes 2 hours of your time and is a lot of fun!!!!

Egg My House is a fun community event hosted by Linganore High SAFE and SANE. Each year volunteers stuff about 6000 eggs to be delivered to the community. The event raises funds for LHS senior class post graduation party, Safe and Sane. Volunteers can earn community service hours. We need volunteers...

LHS PTSA Needs Volunteers

LHS PTSA has critical needs for internal auditing. The PTSA needs to form a committee of 3 parent volunteers who have financial experience or who are CPAs. If you are able to volunteer, please message by Friday, March 20th if you are interested.

If we are not able to find volunteers in our school community to do this within the next week or so, we will have to hire auditors--causing us to offset our budget for student and staff needs this school year.

Please attend the March PTSA meeting this Wednesday, March 18, 2026 from 6-7PM in the Main Office Conference Room. There are critical needs for volunteers to step into PTSA board roles for next school year. If these positions are not filled by May 2026, it is extremely likely that LHS PTSA will not be fully functional next school year. The open board positions for the 2026-2027 school year are:
