Extremely proud of all the hard work the third graders put into their Farm Expo. The last couple months have been focused on this and they did not disappoint. Huge thank you to all the people who came to check them out. They loved having you there. We are ready to move onto our next project. Be on the look out for what awesome thing we do next!

Krayton's Grandma and Great-Grandma came and visited our classroom today. The students got to enjoy a story written especially for them (with candy and treats for after)! We love having guest readers! Thank you to all our guest readers and special thanks to Krayton's family for spending some time with us this morning!

Looking for something to keep your child busy for an afternoon! Consider taking them to Wings and Wetlands! This is a great program for them to learn a little more about nature, kayaking, fishing, etc. They even have chances for prizes. If you register before May 1st you get a free tshirt!

Looking forward to the math & science night for the 2nd-4th grade students at West Elementary this Thursday night! The fun begins at 6pm! The younger kids had a blast at theirs & looking forward to a great night with the older kids!

The holidays are approaching quickly. Start thinking about getting some of your shopping done early. Books are the perfect gift! If you plan on ordering as a gift, please let me know so that when the book orders come, I will leave them aside and find a way to get them to you without the child knowing.

Aren't in our class? Feel free to order anyways. You can shop for all grade levels on the Scholastic site. When your order is delivered, I'll contact you and find a way to get your books to you!

We have some exciting news to share. The last couple weeks we have been working super hard on our Lexia Learning program. For those of you who don't know what that is, it is an online reading program that we use!

Lexia started a contest a couple weeks ago and our team entered. To have a chance of winning, each student had to meet their minute goals (can be up to 60min/week) and complete their units. These students worked so hard and each student met their goals.

Out of over 2700 classes, we're excited to share with you that we won! We will receive a $100 gift card to have a pizza party to celebrate our success!

So proud of these kids! We had Popsicles today as a pre-celebration!

I'm a pretty lucky teacher. Happy Friday everyone!

How lucky am I? These students have worked SO hard this first month of school. I couldn't be more proud of them. As they were sitting quietly and working hard on their math dailies, I snapped this photo. All I could think was that at that moment, I was the luckiest person. These kids show respect, kindness, and integrity. They treat every person fairly. They have no judgments towards others. They are responsible, reliable, and willing to do anything if it means helping. They don't give up. They always try their hardest, even if it isn't easy. They share their ideas with others and build upon what they already know. They listen to their peers' opinions. They serve as great role models for the younger students in the school. They are simply an amazing group.

Today I am lucky. Every day that I teach these students, I am lucky.

Thank you third grade class for being YOU. And thank you for letting me teach you. I am beyond excited for what the rest of this year has to offer us! Keep up all the great work!
