Recess got a whole lot more fun at West this year!

A HUGE thank you to our amazing parent group, Emmetsburg West Elementary PIE, for purchasing new recess equipment for our students! 🖤💛

These new additions are bringing so much excitement to our playground!

We are so grateful for the way PIE continues to pour into our students and make West an even more fun place to learn, grow, and play. Thank you, PIE, for always finding ways to make our school extra special!

Our School-Wide Reading Challenge officially kicked off this month!

From Preschool all the way to 4th Grade, we are diving into a year filled with incredible stories, new adventures, and lots of reading! 📖✨

And here’s why it matters…

Just 20 minutes of reading each day exposes a child to about 1.8 million words each year!(Scholastic)

Those minutes add up! Every story, every page, and every conversation about a book helps build vocabulary, comprehension, confidence, and a lifelong love of reading. 💛

Challenge: Find a book and read together for 20 minutes tonight!

Let’s build a community of lifelong readers one page at a time.📚🖤💛

What is your family reading tonight? Drop your favorites in the comments below! 👇📖
