Hickman Charter School offers a tuition-free, personalized independent studies program for TK–8th grade students in Alameda and Santa Clara counties. Families enjoy flexible home-based learning paired with community days, enrichment, and field trips, all supported by dedicated educators.

Discover the enriching classes we offer every Wednesday at Live Oak Park in Berkeley! 🌿 Our sessions are designed to inspire creativity and foster hands-on learning in a vibrant, outdoor setting.

From exploring nature in Eco Projects 🌱 to rehearsing for our Shakespeare play 🎭, and diving into music and singing in Music Exploration 🎤—our students are engaged and inspired each week.

We had an exciting adventure to Alcatraz Island! 🌊 We explored its unique history, enjoyed the beautiful Bay views, and made connections to material we previously covered in our Wednesday class session.

Last Wednesday was a day to remember at Slide Ranch! Our students and their families had an incredible time with hands-on activities like milking goats, harvesting fresh veggies from the garden, and hanging with the chickens in their coop. 🐐🥕🐔

We would like to invite you and your children to join one of our last information session before summer break.

When: Thursday, May 30 @ 2:00 PM
Where: Alameda Resource Center

This will give families, children, and our Education Coordinators about an hour to learn more about each other. We will cover our enrollment process, details abut how our program runs and what we can offer prospective families. We will allow time for Q&A and conduct a mini tour of the Resource Center.

It’s time! Interest Applications for Hickman Charter School for the 2024-2025 school year open on January 22 at 8:00am on our website hcs.

Current parents of HCS students who will be enrolling younger siblings need to fill out an interest application as well.

This is the 1st step of enrollment, details will follow for an information meeting.

Students who are 5 on or before September 1, 2024 qualify for Kindergarten and students who turn 5 on September 2, 2024-June 2, 2025 qualify for Transitional Kindergarten (TK).
