Support our local growers like Schlechter Brothers Country Harvest & Grobe Fruit Farm. Where do you get your local food?
National Farmers Market Week is the perfect time to visit your local farmer’s market and meet the people who grow your food. Every tomato, peach and bunch of carrots starts with agricultural producers who work the land every day. At NRCS, we’re proud to support those producers by providing voluntary conservation assistance to protect our natural resources and keep working lands in working hands.
Visiting your local market this weekend? Drop a photo in the comments of your haul!

What a nice surprise to see this post from our friends at Rathlin Soils.
Let me (Patti D. here) be perfectly clear that this idea of the pollinator plot was not done single handedly. I had several partners who also could see the potential. Their excitement & expertise helped make this dream come true. Northeast Ohio Chapter of Pheasants Forever - especially Chip Wendt, LEAP, Abby Prieur our former Farm Bill Biologist, The Pollinator Partnership, Nicole Stengle, Lorain County Ohio Government (Commissioners) for allowing this project on their parcel, Lorain County maintenance (Meagan Logan & staff) as well as our own Conservation Technician Hayden Matus for helping prep the site, our building partners from OSU Extension- Lorain County & Lorain County Farm Service Agency, & the many residents & local organizations such as Primrose Nativescapes LLC & Ohio Department of Natural Resources who came out on our seeding day. This belongs to all of us, including the many little lives we're creating this for.
We're so blessed to have such a wonderful network of passionate, involved folks in Lorain County.
Come visit Rathlin Soils in the Soil & Water barn (building #28 - the only big red barn) at the fair this year!
