We recently had the opportunity to gather with LCCC Foundation Alumni & Friends at Cleveland Wh***ey for an extraordinary event. A special thank-you to Cleveland Wh***ey CEO, Tom Lix for welcoming us and sharing his LCCC story.

For more than a decade, LCCC chemistry professor Dr. Regan Silvestri and his students have partnered with the distillery, exploring the science behind wh***ey aging and flavor development through hands-on, real-world industry collaboration.

This partnership is a wonderful example of how education, innovation, and community connections create lasting impact. Thank you to everyone who joined us for an enjoyable evening celebrating the relationships that make our community strong.

We’re excited to welcome Dr. Regan L. Silvestri, Professor of Chemistry at LCCC and several of his past students. Dr. Silvestri’s students will share their insights from the wh***ey chemistry research partnership with Cleveland Wh***ey, where LCCC students actively engage in studying the chemical processes behind wh***ey aging and flavor development.
