Some years begin with more questions than answers. But sometimes, not every question needs to be answered before we begin.
There are still students walking through our doors who need to be noticed. There are lessons to teach, questions worth asking, ideas to wrestle with, and those moments when something finally clicks.
We may not know exactly where the year is going.
But we still know why we’re here.

When a student is ready for more, it doesn’t mean they need less from us.
We’re pleased to welcome Heather Searight to the ESCLC as our new Gifted Coordinator. Heather will help ensure gifted learners are understood, challenged, and provided an environment to keep discovering just how far their abilities can take them.

Some of the most important things we learn about students show up in small moments.
A comment before class. Something mentioned while everyone is settling in. A story that takes all of 30 seconds to tell.
Little details are easy to miss during the busyness of the first weeks. But when you remember one later, it can say quite a lot.
I was listening. I remembered. You matter here.

Before the first lesson is taught, students are already learning something about their classroom.
They're learning what gets noticed. What sparks curiosity. What kinds of stories are welcome.
The questions we ask help shape that message.
As you prepare for a new school year, research tells us that making small shifts may lead to more meaningful conversations and deeper trust.

Through an exploration of language development, reading theory, and evidence-based practices, participants will build knowledge that can inform instruction and support stronger outcomes for students.
Deadline to register: August 15th
