We are so lucky one of our awesome EAS families owns and operates zone 3 gardens ! The apple orchard project has been in the works for months, and this week the trees went in! The summer campers have worked diligently to prepare the land for the trees, by playing in the dirt pile of course! They also helped to smooth out the dirt pile, dig holes for the trees, and construct erosion control structures on the hill behind the trees. After the trees were planted some kids got to help put up a fence around the trees! It wouldn’t be a true Ely Adventure School project if the kids weren’t involved in every step of the process. We’re excited to water the orchard and watch the trees grow! Thanks again to all the wonderful people at Zone 3 Gardens 💚
