I have been having issues with printing the newsletter. Here is this weeks.
This week in math, we have continued working with fractions. We have been using fraction bars to help with finding equivalent and comparing fractions. In science, the class has been discussing weather and making predictions. The students listen to the story of Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. They then had to put in the correct order the events in the story along with answer some questions. The class had to also predict what the weather would be like for a week in Chewandswallow. We are finishing up our chapter on weather and will take the test next Friday. The study guide will go home on Tuesday. Reading went along with science in which the class read a story about storm chasers and had to determine importance of some of the details. In language, we have been discussing singular and plural possessives. In phonics we continue to discuss homonyms. We are very close to our reading goal of 1 million words. Less than 200,000 away! Keep on Reading!

Hopefully everyone had a wonderful Halloween. Enjoy Trick or Treating tonight if you are going. Homework this weekend, read for 20 minutes, go on ixl, and study the new spelling list.

Just a reminder the students can bring in their Halloween costumes- no weapons! on Thursday. Halloween Musical Thursday, Oct. 31 in the small gym from about 10:30 to 11:18. Friday, Nov. 1 Awards Assembly in the small gym from about 9:00 to 9:30.

Homework for this weekend, read for 20 minutes, go on ixl, and do the science test. Picture retakes are on Tues., Oct. 22. Next week is spirit week to go along with Red ribbon week: I have better things to do than drugs. Monday-Sports day, Tuesday-twin day, Wednesday-Workout Day and Thursday-Wear black and white.

Today's homework is to do math textbook pages 80-81, a phonics handout, and a spelling paper if they did not finish. Also, our spelling test will be tomorrow.
