One more MSF update… we also earned the FFA Chapter Sweepstakes Award for Goats for the second year! In the early years of the show team, we took one, maybe two market goats and eventually progressed into commercial does. Fast forward to today, I can’t help but think of how far we have come and the goals we are still working toward for the future, especially in registered breeding stock. I blame Josie and Taylor for planting seeds of what this could become… but in the middle of reminiscing, we are looking forward to next year (or maybe we aren’t quite done with this one yet 😉) and thinking kidding is right around the corner…

It's been a good last session at the state fair.

Missouri State Fair Goat Shows were a smashing success! We haven’t been able to hit the road with the goats much this year, but it has been quite a ride watching these kiddos get them to the backdrop!

What a day it has been! We went out with a bang for the MO State Fair Sheep Shows (we will save those Dorset Advantage Results for tomorrow)… Can’t say as I have ever had to tell a kid that her lamb won the biggest show of the year in the State by phone, but there is always room for more on the Bingo card! Mackenzie’s Russell Roxy won the State Fair Suffolk Open Show today with “The Big Sheep Girl” Taylor at the head and Ella setting (she had to leave do to big kid things like college). It was truly a team effort today getting everything ready in two barns with 3 different species, but it was well worth it after today! Lexie and Savanah won their yearling class and Ella and Elvis got second in the fall ram class. Addie and Miles also had a super stellar day! Goat and pig show results headed out soon!

More big news from Missouri State Fair! Ella Koch and Elvis were able to snag Champion FFA Suffolk Ram AND a Showmanship win! Mackenzie and Marty placed first in the Junior Ram class and Addie, Ella, and Miles all knocked it out of the park! No big shows tomorrow, but when the jumping goat Baby Sage is on the grounds, we have our hands full… looking forward to more sheep, goat, and pig shows to come!

The Missouri State Fair Market Lamb classes are underway! Ella Koch won Champion Suffolk Market Lamb and Myranda, Claire, Emily, and Lexie all had gold ribbon lambs. Wether dams and barrows kick off tomorrow!

The State Fair hasn’t officially started yet, but that doesn’t mean our members aren’t ready to roll! Kinley Koch kicked things off by exhibiting in the poultry show. Kinley has turkeys, ducks, and chickens and shows them like a champ! Great job Kinley!
