💡Parent eTip:
Bridge the communication gap

Teens often clam up when you wish they would talk. To open up communication with your teen, look for ways to build bridges between your lives. Try these suggestions: Over ice cream, compare your middle or high school experiences. Settle in together to eat popcorn and watch some TV shows you watched as a teen. Or share a laugh looking over your old high school photos.

One helpful way to open up communication with your teen is by building bridges between your lives. Props can help. Here are some to start with:

💡Parent eTip:
Four values contribute to school success

You choose the values you instill in your teen. Here are four to consider that will benefit your teen in school and life: 1. Generosity. Making another person's life better improves your teen's life, too. 2. Integrity. Your teen will be someone who can be counted on. 3. Forgiveness. Teach your teen that holding on to anger damages relationships and health. 4. Respect. Teach respect for self and for others, and your teen will win the respect of classmates, teachers and more.

Every family has its own values. You choose the values you instill in your teen. However, there are a few values that give teens a better chance of growing up with self-respect and of winning respect from others—in school, in the workplace, and in life.

💡Parent eTip:
Help your teen express anger without melting down

Everyone gets angry. But learning to express feelings calmly before anger boils over is essential. To help your teen learn this skill, offer some reasons for controlling temper. "I can understand your needs so much better when you speak civilly." Ask your teen to think about how it feels to be yelled at, and how others must feel when your teen yells at them. Then, be sure to offer praise when your teen expresses anger without ranting.

💡Parent eTip:
Drinking and thinking don't mix

You know drinking alcohol increases a teen's risk of being involved in automobile accidents and other risky behavior. But did you know alcohol can also damage a teen's ability to learn? Teen alcohol use can lead to poor memory, poor self-control, aggressive behavior, reduced problem-solving ability, and reduced visual and spatial skills. The effects can be worse if your teen is on medication or has ADHD.

You probably know many reasons why your teen shouldn’t drink alcohol. For example, teens who drink increase their risk of being involved in automobile accidents and other risky or harmful behavior.

Afternoon Parents/Guardians,

2026-2027 Registration is now open for both New and Returning students. Please note, if your previous PowerSchool Account does not work, you will need to create a new account as this is a new system to our district.

In order to make your enrollment experience as smooth as possible, we ask that you COMPLETE your online registration no later than July 2, 2026 in order for documents to be approved before registration week. If you are unable to complete the online registration before July 2, 2026, you will still be able to come during registration week to finish, but know that your process will take longer. Please remember that by completing the online forms today, this does not mean that the student has finished the registration process as there are still paper documents that need to be completed. Legal Parents/Guardians and student/s are BOTH required to be present in order to complete the student registration process that will be held July 6th-9th, 2026. If you are unable to make it during registration week, you will need to call on July 13th, 2026 to schedule an appointment to complete the process. Any student that arrives during registration week without their Legal Parent/Guardian will not be allowed to complete the process. Also, please note that proof of residency, regardless of whether submitted today, will still need to be shown again during registration week, or on the day you come to complete the registration process, as these documents have to be verified, and marked as current documents per A.R.S. § 15-802. If you have any questions related to the registration process please contact Ms. Leon at [email protected] or call at 520-466-2200.
