Roberts Academy at Elon University

"Here we learn, here we grow.
Every day there’s more to know.
We are thinkers, we are strong,
And at Roberts we belong.
Dream big, shine bright, as a Phoenix we take flight.
Side by side, here we say, we can learn in our own way.
This is our school, this is our day.
We are Roberts, hip hip hooray!"

It was a glorious afternoon on Oct. 2, 2026, for our Roberts Academy at Elon University official ribbon-cutting ceremony (and school tours afterward!) with Hal and Marjie Roberts.

Thank you to Cassie Fambro and her colleagues at FOX8 for sharing more about our approach to literacy education for children with dyslexia!

ELON, N.C. (WGHP) — The impact of a university is typically viewed through the lens of those 18 and older: students and staff. There are children as young as 8 learning at Elon University. Elon Uni…

It was “Grands Day” at Roberts Academy at Elon University on Friday when we hosted grandparents (and others who are “grand” to our students) to learn more about our school! There was artistic rock painting and an interactive demonstration of an Orton-Gillingham lesson alongside tours and fun activities. It was a joy to welcome everyone! ✏️📖🖌️🎨

🎒📓🖍️ We couldn't have asked for a better first day of our very first year for our wonderful students and families. In the words of one parent following morning drop-off: “What amazed me is we were walking into the parking lot, and we walked up, and she didn’t look back. That made me feel really good that she didn’t look back as she walked off because I think she knows that she is going to be OK.”

Maybe you've been following us for weeks. Maybe you've visited the website a few times. Maybe you've started the prospective student form and stopped halfway through.

We see you. And we understand.

This is a big decision. It means changing schools. It means trusting a new approach. It means believing that this time, things can be different for your child.

If you have questions, ask them. If you need a conversation, we're here. If you need someone to walk you through financial aid, we'll go line by line. We’re here for YOU.

Tell us about your child at the link in our bio.

Parents in our network describe similar versions of the same story.

It's the moment their child picks up a book voluntarily or sounds out a word on a street sign from the back seat of the car. Sometimes it’s when their child reads a bedtime story to a younger sibling instead of being read to.

It doesn't happen right away. It builds. Lesson by lesson, sound by sound, pattern by pattern. And then one day, something clicks and reading isn't a battle anymore. It's just... reading.

For some children, it takes months. For others, it takes a little longer. But when it happens, parents say the same thing: "I knew this was different. I knew we'd found the right place."

That moment is waiting for your child at Roberts Academy.
