🌎 GEC Student Spotlight: Meet Ashley! ✈️

Meet Ashley Schnyder, a senior studying Journalism & Strategic Communications and one of our GEC student ambassadors!

Ashley spent the spring semester in Seville, Spain, from January to May 2026. One of her favorite memories was experiencing the Feria de Sevilla (Seville April Fair)!

Her advice for students thinking about going abroad? Don’t be afraid to step outside your comfort zone—and make sure to cherish the memories you make along the way. 💫

Ashley joined the GEC because she wanted to help other students find the place and experience that feels right for them, just like she did. Her favorite part of working at the GEC is attending fairs and connecting with prospective students!

🌏 Next on Ashley’s travel list? Australia!

Follow along as we continue introducing the student staff who help make the GEC what it is! 💙

🌎 GEC Student Spotlight: Meet Lauren!✈️

Meet Lauren McCowan, a junior studying Strategic Communications & Journalism with a minor in Political Science and one of our Study USA Ambassadors!

This summer, Lauren spent time in Washington, D.C., where one of her favorite memories was visiting the U.S. Capitol and getting the chance to learn more about Congress and government.

Her advice for students thinking about going abroad? “Try everything!” You never know when you’ll get the chance to return to a place, so make the most of the experience. 💫

Lauren joined the GEC because she wants to help other students experience the world and learn from amazing professors, just like she did.

📍 Where would Lauren love to travel next? New Zealand! 🇳🇿

Follow along as we introduce more of the student staff who help make the GEC what it is! 🌍
