I chose Kappas to join a robust sisterhood on campus! I wanted to be surrounded by women who value the importance of diversity as much as I do, not to mention I was also looking to expand my circle and meet new people!

𝐈𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐠𝐨 𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐱𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬, 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐠𝐨 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐡𝐲?
I’d go and take a trip to Titan, one of Saturn’s moons! It’s the largest moon in the solar system and has an entire atmosphere - the multicolored surface is gorgeous to look at and I think my sxsters and I would have so much fun sightseeing.

I chose Kappas because I wanted to find people who I could connect with culturally. Growing up I didnt have a space where I could share my culture and my experiences so whenever I got to Elon I knew I wanted to join a community where I could not only share my own culture but learn from others as well.

I chose Kappas because I grew up feeling disconnected from my culture, and I wanted to reconnect with my roots while finding my community at Elon. I have gained genuine relationships within Kappas, and it has made my experience at Elon much better.

𝐈𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐠𝐨 𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐱𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬, 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐠𝐨 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐡𝐲?
I would go to Venus because it represents beauty, love, and transformation, which reflects what Kappas means to me. Though my time in Kappas has been short, I have grown a lot as a person, and I am forever grateful I took a chance on something so far out of my comfort zone. It feels especially fitting to visit a planet that connects so deeply to the impact this sisterhood has had on me.

I joined Kappas because I wanted to have forever bonds with a group of girls in college and even out of college! Kappas showed me I didn’t half to be less of myself to feel welcome, and telling me I mog and should be a model lol. I also wanted to connect more with my Indian culture and Identity while also finding sxsters who are similar to myself. These girls make me feel I have a home away from home and I can always rely on them when I need anything. I love all the roblox shenanigans we get up to and the late night adventures! They also know how much I love mother monster Lady Gaga! It’s just all the little things that make me feel like this is my second home

I chose Kappas to connect more at Elon and to connect more with my Asian culture. Not only was I able to connect with others and my culture, but I was also able to build my confidence. The sxsters of this chapter are so supportive and caring. It feels as though every single one of them only wants the best for you. After being in Kappas for about a year, I can say that it was one of my best decisions at Elon and I can’t wait for what’s next!

I grew up in a household that shared many traditions and cultural values from both my parents’ Indian backgrounds and have traveled to India multiple times to visit family. Before coming to Elon, I grew up in a predominantly white high school, so my culture has always been separate from school. Coming to Elon, I had assumed it would be the same, but through Kappas, I have found a way to combine the two a little more and build a community with others who share similar backgrounds and experiences.

I chose Kappas because I wanted to find a way to be more connected to the Asian community on campus! I grew up in a predominantly white area and never really had a strong connection to my culture and wanted to find a way to learn about and connect to it at Elon. I chose Kappas because none of my sxsters have ever made me feel small or less than because of my disconnect to my culture and heritage, and instead were always open to share their heritage and culture with me or learn more about our cultures together! My sxsters have always been there for me no matter what and have helped me to grow into a stronger, more confident version of myself and I am so lucky to have them!
