Meet the Music Director of Young Frankenstein — Nolan DeSanto! ⚡️🎶

Master of melodies seeking a cast full of powerhouse vocals, perfect comedic timing, and enough energy to raise the dead.

Nolan is excited to bring the unforgettable score of Young Frankenstein to life, from spooky harmonies and dramatic ballads to over-the-top comedy numbers and show-stopping tap routines. With music that is both hilariously clever and surprisingly heartfelt, this show is packed with opportunities for performers to shine.

One of Nolan’s favorite things about Young Frankenstein is how it blends classic Broadway style with Mel Brooks’ signature humor. Whether it is a big ensemble number, a ridiculous character song, or a heartfelt moment tucked into the chaos, there is something in this score for everyone to enjoy.

⚡️ Auditions are Monday, May 11 and Tuesday, May 12 from 6:30–9:00 PM at Elmira Little Theatre.

For auditions, prepare a musical selection in the style of the show—it does not need to be from Young Frankenstein. A song excerpt is perfectly fine, but please memorize it so you can really show off your character. Bring sheet music with clearly marked starting and ending cuts for the pianist.

Auditionees will also be asked to perform a monologue “in character.” No memorization required.

This Thursday, November 20th at 10:15am, the Chrystallum Quartet (Flute, Oboe, Bassoon, and Piano) will be present a recital at North Presbyterian Church in Elmira, NY, for the Thursday Morning Musicales. With local support, we commissioned a new work for the ensemble and are happy to debut Ad Astra Per Aspera by Amber Ferenz; in honor of Colonel (ret.) Eileen Collins, a native of Elmira, NY, for her accomplishments in aerospace exploration.
