🐝 My Family Week Fun! 🧩❤️

Our little learners are having so much fun celebrating My Family Week! Today, we took our family pictures and turned them into personalized puzzles! 🧩

The children had a wonderful time putting their family puzzles back together while practicing problem-solving, matching, fine motor skills, and concentration.

We love finding creative ways to make learning meaningful—and what could be more special than learning with pictures of the people we love most? ❤️🏡👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

Today preschool welcomed a very special visitor today—Mr. John Scudder, a seasoned veteran and member of our own Elmhurst American Legion.

Mr. Scudder proudly served as Commander of the Elmhurst American Legion for more than a decade and is a dedicated member of the Elmhurst community.

Mr. Scudder was happy to share a little about his experiences serving in the army for 30 years and all the places he has visited across the globe. We learned he drove the military tankers which the class thought was very interesting!

We are so grateful to Mr. Scudder for his service to our country and for taking the time to visit us this morning!

🩻✨ STEAM Learning: Exploring Our Bodies! ✨🩻

Our toddlers had so much fun learning about their bodies through pretend X-rays! They explored what is underneath our skin, talked about our bones, and compared different parts of the body.

This hands-on activity brought STEAM learning to life as the children practiced observation, problem-solving, early science skills, and new vocabulary. Through play and exploration, our toddlers are discovering just how amazing their bodies are! 🦴🔍💙

This week, our little learners are exploring ways to keep their bodies safe, strong, and healthy! One of our favorite ways to care for our bodies is by enjoying the delicious farm-to-table meals served right here at EPC. 🥕🥦🍓

Mealtime is also a wonderful learning opportunity! Our children practice serving themselves, building independence, fine motor skills, confidence, and healthy eating habits along the way.

🔢 Learning Through Play at EPC! 🔢

Our toddlers are busy working on the number 7! Today, they practiced recognizing the number, counting to seven, and building early math skills through hands-on play.

They also worked on their fine motor skills as they carefully glued 7 dots onto the number 7. Activities like this help strengthen little hands, improve hand-eye coordination, and prepare children for future writing skills. ✋🖍️

Learning through play at EPC! 💦🧼👧🧒

Today, our children enjoyed a fun STEAM activity called “Wash the People!” Using a sensory bin filled with water and toy people, the children explored concepts like clean and dirty, wet and dry, and cause and effect—all while strengthening their fine motor skills and having lots of fun!

At EPC, we believe that some of the most meaningful learning happens through play. Every splash, squeeze, scrub, and discovery is an opportunity to explore, experiment, and learn! 💙

🌳☀️ Outdoor Play + Big Body Movement! ☀️🌳

Our preschool friends had so much fun outside today putting their bodies to work as they completed an outdoor obstacle course! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

They climbed, jumped, balanced, crawled, and moved their way through each challenge. Obstacle courses are a wonderful way for children to build gross motor skills, balance, coordination, strength, and confidence—all while having a blast!

At EPC, we love turning outdoor play into opportunities for learning, movement, and FUN! 💚
