Quilting a Colony!

Students in Mrs. Fox’s 5th Grade Project Block class worked together to create a paper quilt inspired by the story of Jamestown. Each square features a different aspect of the community that helped Jamestown grow into an enduring colony.

It was a creative way for students to explore the people, resources, leadership, and community that shaped Jamestown, while working together to bring all of their pieces into one finished project.

History, collaboration, and creativity all in one project!

Miss. F’s Vet Science students got hands-on practice learning how to listen to and identify gut sounds! Students used a stethoscope to listen for the sounds of digestion and learn what those sounds can tell us about an animal’s health.

It’s one thing to learn about animal anatomy and health in a textbook, but at C3, our students get to learn by doing.

We want to take a moment to give a huge shout-out to our 8th graders for the way they approached their learning experience on 9/11.

After sitting through MAP testing that morning, our 8th graders spent the next two hours watching Come From Away, experiencing 9/11 from a different perspective. The musical tells the stories of people whose lives were unexpectedly changed that day, and the compassion, generosity, and humanity that emerged as communities came together to support complete strangers during an uncertain and tragic time.

What really stood out was the conversation that followed.

Our 8th graders asked thoughtful questions, shared meaningful reflections, and engaged in honest conversations about the stories and experiences they had just witnessed. Their curiosity, empathy, and willingness to look at such an important moment in history from another perspective made us incredibly proud.

These are the kinds of moments that remind us that learning isn't always about a textbook or a test. Sometimes it's about listening to someone else's story, asking questions, and taking the time to understand.

We are so proud of our 8th graders and the maturity they showed throughout the experience.
